I’m sure King Jim would have a link that is applicable to this. Just kidding!

King Jim really knows how to copy and paste links from the “infallible” Internet! I wish he could just say something original sometime!

Mike, So there’s nothing figurative in Scripture? What about the hills skipping like little lambs and the trees clapping their hands? Just saying.

I also do not believe that the one hundred and forty four thousand are literally that number of persons. It is a representation/illustration. If it was literal, the people in heaven would have already reached that number and there would be no room for you or I. What about the measurements of the New Jerusalem? All of God’s people couldn’t fit in there if it were literal cubits. There’s obviously some things in Daniel and Revelation that were not meant to be taken literally.

And, besides, we were talking about Pence, not Trump.

I do believe that Jesus is coming (Second Coming) soon and that the day He comes will be called the Last Day. That day will mark the end of this universe (it will burn up) and there will be a new universe(heaven and earth). God’s people will be with Him in the new universe, the unconverted will be in the cursed lake of fire with Satan and his angels away from God’s presence for all eternity. Very sobering.

Mike and Unprofitable Servant,
The term “amillinial” is a bit misleading as we actually do believe that we are experiencing the millennium right now. I think the term may have been given by the proponents of the other views who were falsely accusing us of not believing in any Millenium. We merely believe that there’s no future millennium that we will enter apart from this current one. There’s “pre,” “post,” and “a—and “pan” of course. Panmillinials hold that they do not understand quite how it will all happen, but that the Lord will work it all out according to His blessed will—it will all pan out! So yes, Brother Unprofitable Servant, I am probably a strange mixture of postmillennial, amillinial, and panmillinial, but most of all I want to be biblical as much as I can. I hope that helps.

I’ve been thinking of ditching my IPhone 7+ and getting a tiny dumb phone that just does talk and text and gets better cell coverage, but it dawned on me that these dumb phones can’t pull up SermonAudio. I think I’ll just have to just keep the smart one. Oh well.

Speaking of which, “The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, And night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, And their words to the end of the world. In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun, Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, And rejoices like a strong man to run its race. Its rising is from one end of heaven, And its circuit to the other end; And there is nothing hidden from its heat. The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes; The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them Your servant is warned, And in keeping them there is great reward.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭19:1-11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Conclusion is that too little sleep is bad and too much is bad. Rest well tonight, and may the Lord refresh your minds and strengthen your bodies, brothers and sisters!

Jesus said the following:
“I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.”
‭‭John‬ ‭9:4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Now that we have electricity to run huge lights we think that we can do regular work at night. It is possible with artificial light but still difficult as our human nature is contrary to it. We usually avoid working at night unless it’s an emergency or a vital task that shouldn’t go undone. We don’t usually mow the lawn at midnight even if we lived far away from neighbors or if they were already gone deaf.

Nighttime is ideal for certain tasks like clandestine military operations, hunting nocturnal species as mentioned already, or practical astronomy for that matter.

Jim, you mentioned that Will’s snide remarks are “much more amusing” than yours. Why would you or Will be mocking a leader of your country as if he was a buffoon or vagabond? Furthermore, why would you think it amusing to do so? Does not the Holy Scriptures command that we respect our leaders? Do you make jokes about our ultimate authority—God? Or is it just towards the men of God that He has graciously blessed this country with? You seem to have played the Devil’s advocate until you started believing yourself!

Dictionary definition of the adjective “snide”:

Derogatory or mocking in an indirect way.
