John UK wrote: I estimate that God is only answering about one in ten thousand prayers at present. If you can't see the low state of the church in general, you are walking about with blinkers on. Honesty is a trait of new birth. Check out the attitude of someone like Pastor Wurmbrand, if you want to see the effect of new birth, and how it takes away hatred for others. Or a Corrie Ten Boom similarly, showing how to live a Spirit led life with God. Because God is a God of both mercy and justice, it does not mean the church has to be the same. Some things belong ONLY to God. God will punish the wicked. Do you feel like YOU want to punish the wicked? I met a professing Christian the other day who would happily do some genocide on the UK to get all the foreigners out who are drinking us dry. There was a time when sodomy was a punishable sin in the UK. Even attempted suicide was a sin punishable by death. Are you saying that God has made a mistake in allowing the laws to be changed. Why can't you believe in the sovereign God and be at peace with yourself? A reprobate speaks,God blesses the approval of what he condemns I guess, suicide punished by death ? brilliant,no wonder England is washed up. |

John UK wrote: Well Strat, it is very difficult to mention in one post the whole counsel of God. One thing I know, and that is that you regard me as unbalanced, as has come out in your several posts to do with my rebuke of anonymous for having a wrong spirit. Now if you want to discuss the awful judgments of God on sin, I am quite willing to do so. But what I am not willing to do is hold an attitude of self-righteous judgment of mine own upon sinners, which thing is evil in God's sight. Now here is a secret. When we disobey Christ, we fall under chastisement of God. If we do not repent of such, we fall further. If not remedied, we will eventually go into apostasy, losing true faith. This is why I am concerned for our friend who has been duped by his PO singing. What or who gave you the right to jud....uh "rebuke" anonymous....substituting the word rebuke for judge at one's convenience is quite common.....isn't it ?The political liberal judges at will because he or she has convinced themselves they have the right to since they are the last word on living and how to live, likewise with the religious liberal who will say judge not.....then judge at will. Point being the "judge not" crowd of which you are one judges as much as anyone. |

John UK wrote: The answer is that he is not converted. No-one gets converted without conviction of sin, and you get conviction of sin when the heinousness of sin is preached, along with God's wrath on sin, which is to perish forever in the lake of fire. So to use the unconverted as an argument is not really bona fide, Strat. But hey, if I have misunderstood the teaching of Jesus in the passage I quoted when anonymous cried out "Bring on the Fire and Brimstone, Lord!" then I am always open to being taught my error, and you might just be the man to do it. If you have a care for the saints, that is. Or you might prefer to leave me in my supposed heresy and instead cry out, "Lord, rain down judgments on John UK for not understanding your words aright." Oh my,in a sarcastic mood are we not,i never attempted to use the unconverted in any argument,an Englishman so confused on the English language.I responded to the rather worn out argument that anyone who mentions judgment which is contained in the bible is somehow less than those who never mention it. I have no interest in teaching you anything,i am not responsible for you,you are. Perhaps you subscribe to a man centered religion where man and his feelings reign...I do not. |

John UK wrote: If any Christian is in a place where there is no preaching on the judgments of God on sin, what on earth is he doing there, Strat? Since you love to ask questions with obvious answers I will leave it to you to answer. |

Missing the point wrote: Hurnes, you are sadly missing JohnUK point. Our Lord wept over the lost, Paul wished himself accursed for the salvation of others and Petrer reminds us that God is not willing any perish. Do you think they were afraid of proclaiming the justice of God? Are we not commanded to fear Him who has power to cast both body and soul into hell? God says He has no pleasure in the death of the wicked, you come across as one can't wait for them to get their due punishment. But for the grace of God you would also be on the broad road to destruction . Those perishing in their sin should bring you sorrow and you should be like Abraham praying for their deliverance. Perhaps its an over reaction to the absence of any preaching about the sure judgment of God on sin, perhaps its an over reaction to any preaching about the consequences of choices made, perhaps its an over reaction to the notion that because one has been saved by grace from their sin that another is excused by grace from their sin, perhaps its an over reaction to the absence of balance between grace and judgment in most of today's pulpits....always favoring one over the other when the bible teaches both. |

tell that to wrote: No, I do understand, which you don't, the need for regulations and laws. Your definition of law is anybody can do anything as long as it doesn't negatively impact you. If the don't build the guy down the street house to code no big deal, as long as they do yours. People can do live anyway they want to as long you can go merrily on your way with no negative effect. Are we over regulated? Yes. Is the government too far reaching? Yes. Does that mean all laws and regulations are bad? No. Heroine was legal back when they made coca-cola and maybe you want more people high on heroine in our society but I will pass and say it should be restricted to the medical use. You think we should do away with the war on drugs, sure and be like Mexico, that would be a big improvement. Lets legalize polygamy, prostitution, mercy killing too. Oh wait, you don't want those, you want people to do exactly as you want in those matters. I am going merrily on my way because it is my life I will give an account of and not the lives of others, what a shock that will be to people like you who expect to receive credit for the way they have tried to force others to live...oh and the drug cartels thank you, they couldn't have done it without you. |

pennnned wrote: they call them Palestinians but then say Palestine doesn't exist. they are born into Israel but they are not called Israelis. where else on earth does this kind of thing happen? They hate what God loves, blind hatred rarely makes sense,in their wicked hearts they know that the Jewish people have and will receive the protection of God,otherwise a state the size of New Jersey wouldn't intimidate them so and they would just get on with what they would like to do. |

Tell that to wrote: Not against medical use of it just recreational use. Strat, anarchy isn't the answer and yes that is what you are arguing for Nonsense,we didn't have anarchy 100 years ago or 200 years ago,you define anarchy the way most people do,which is anybody doing anything you don't approve of or wouldn't do yourself....the more laws the better to make people live exactly as you want them to,things the way you want them to be because anything else is "anarchy"....this is the attitude that has created the police state we live in. |

tell that to wrote: the people who lost loved ones because the driver was impaired due to smoking marijuana, back 100 years ago they didn't have cars. Tell it to the people who lives were ruined because it became a gateway for stronger more addictive substance that was not common 100 years ago. You of all people should know it is not healthy for you. That argument could apply to anything from drunk drivers to distracted drivers and drowsy drivers and people ruin their lives by choice,100 years ago America was a much better nation than it is now, life has always been hazardous in some way and its only when we decided we wanted a sterile risk free world with laws governing every aspect of people's lives have we slid into oblivion.....the tens of thousands of laws to protect us from life have accomplished nothing but our gradual slavery |
