Under the Old Covenant the Levitical Priesthood were ordained to carry out a great many duties in the Temple. They acted as assistants to the High Priest. In the first Epistle of Peter, chapter two, Believers, in verse two are called "an holy priesthood." In verse three they are called "A royal priesthood." Their duties are "to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ." In verse nine we are exhorted to "Show forth the praises of Him who hath called us out of darkness into His marvellous light." This we should do by holy living and by word of mouth, bearing testimony to Him to whom all glory and honour is due. Are we doing this?
