The series that we are continuing today will take you through four marks of someone we believe who lives a life of a true disciple and is following Jesus. Why do we call it "The Cross Marks the Spot"? Because, without question the shadow of the cross looms over the entire New Testament. What are the marks of a true disciple and follower of Jesus? We believe they are found in the answer to four questions we are going to be asking over the next four weeks. If you were to die today where would you spend Eternity? ''Every person born in America by law is given a birth credential. Once you have your spiritual birth certificate and have been pointed to Jesus, you are then in turn to point other people to Jesus. The way you measure whether you are doing that and how you are doing that is to answer the second question, which is this, IS THE MARK OF YOUR SHINE ON? This question comes out of the greatest sermon ever preached in history known as ''The Sermon on the Mount'' and flows out of a statement that Jesus made to people who had a desire to follow Him and live the Christian life. You don't have to look a certain way, have a certain degree or hold a certain position to be a light. You just allow the light of Jesus that is in you to come out of you. Jesus is the light of the world. His light enters into us so it will shine through us The light that we shine is the light that we are and the light that we are is the light that we have and the light that we have is Jesus. When you give your life to Jesus you have in effect swallowed the light. You not only have the life of Jesus in you; you have the light of Jesus in you.His light enters into us so it will shine through us.
