Ya know I can hear the frustration. Pastor Bill said turn from looking at this stuff and focus only on his flock. I understand fully these emotions. However unlike what the president believes there is ultimate truth. And unless those like you who have a mouthpiece to declare it to the masses there is no chance for repentance. So I encourage you to double your efforts even when (especially when) it seems like its doing no good. God bless you all.

Amazing how every word in the old and new testament speaks directly to us. Reminds me of the notes in my grandfather's Bible. Even in obscure passages in the old testament we can find treasures that go to the core of every day life. Thanks

Love your enemies. I believe you do that by living with them in peace. However there is a clear distinction between that practice and a war of defense against an enemy that would rape your wives and daughters, chop off your head and then move into your house. This us the stated goal if this enemy. If wars of defense were wrong some one better tell Moses, Joshua, Gideon, King Saul, King David and others that defensive wars are wrong. I believe scripture rings with God's blessing on nations that fight against evil. And after exhausting all diplomatic efforts, you must take the fight to them and pray for God's protection. Y'all said right that as a nation we have moved from God so far that the line between what side is more evil is becoming much more blurred. God help us.

This is God's work from beginning to end. He will rise up godly men to do his work as he sees fit. Those men must be obedient to him but he will never abdicate his glory to those men or the church in America or anywhere.

Its hard to know how to approach this. In days gone by there wasn't such a wide variety of "Christians" on the planet. There are true believers and all others. I think the "all others" are probably a vast majority of all "Christians" on the planet today. So what true believers end up having to do is defend themselves for the actions of "all others". And it is a big problem. True believers need to really work hard to draw that line between themselves and all others so the world can see that there really really really is a difference. Right now the world can't seem to see it.

I agree that we often forsake the Lord for the rituals of Sunday mornings. I will be praying that the Lord surrounds you with a group of believers so that you can function as a Body. I too have closed myself in my room on a Sunday morning to seek God and what the true Church looks like. Do not forsake corporate fellowship. Christians were created to function together. Serving one another and bearing each others bearing one anothers' burdens. Pray that the Lord will bring you to a Biblical church(or group of true believers) so that you may serve the Body of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Thus, dia ten pistin would convey the notion of "on the ground of or on account of faith," thereby making faith the meritorious reason for the believer's acceptance with God. Yet such is the precision of the Spirit's oversight of the New Testament scriptures that nowhere does any writer ever slip into using this prepositional phrase. On every occasion faith is presented as the means of justification. Justification by faith alone is never justification on account of faith (propter fidem), but always justification on account of Christ (propter Christum), i.e. on account of the blood-satisfaction of the Lamb of God being graciously imputed to and received by an undeserving sinner (Gal 3.6; Jas 2.23)."

And that is your biggest problem JD.. you want to reduce God's theology to your intellectual level, otherwise it would not be fair to you.

It has already been demonstrated on this forum, and even your friend Luciano admitted on here, that Justification is through faith only as an instrument, but the most important thing is the object of Faith, who must ever be Jesus Christ - otherwise you are setting up 2 methods of salvation - not that that should create a problem for dispys like you who would set up different methods under different dispensations.

This is going to be problematic for you to accept no matter how clearly and plainly the points are made.
