Abigail...I refuse to get drug into your web of deceit. I believe so-called self-professing Christians are caught up in sin, the sin of pride, arrogance, and wanting to pick arguments with others. These posts are nothing more than personal views being presented back and forth. I will stick with the teachings found in God's Holy word, as He leads, guides, and directs through His Holy Spirit. A much needed lesson in humility is needed by many who post here. I no longer will post on this site, I am guilty of wasting valuable time by doing so. Those who continue to rant and pick fights, may God convict you of your sins!! I will benefit greatly by getting off this merry-go-round and open up His word. Happy new year to all.

I believe, JD, you are in need of prayer. Anyone who wants to aggressively force their version of what scripture means on others is dangerous and borders apostasy. In this age of great deception and apostasy, it is essential to allow the Holy Spirit to teach, and earnestly pray over and meditate upon God's Holy word. He will guide anyone through His word, if they sincerely ask Him and allow Him to take them through each passage. "precept upon precept, here a little, there a little"

JD, you have a way of twisting one's words, regarding an earlier post of mine, your response...In regards to your words above, Paul's prayers in CO and Ep was not for himself... I never meant to insinuate Paul was praying for himself, you aren't the only one with biblical knowledge. I believe you need to swallow your arrogant pride, and quit instigating quarrels within the body of Christ, which you claim to be a member of. "But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in HUMILITY correcting those who are in opposition," 2nd Timothy 2:23-25
DESSIE, thank you for your kind words, God bless you as well.

JD, Paul wrote to the church of Colosse because the heresy of gnosticism had sprung up. Without a strong understanding of who Christ was, they would be led off course. Paul prayed for wisdom and understanding to avoid this heresy. Telling others the good news is essential in the Christian faith, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature" Mark 16:15 This is Christ's command to His disciples, of which I am one.

I am not saying the Holy Spirit isn't a gift of God, I realize how important His ministry is, and to be sealed with Him keeps me. Christ is the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit, John the Baptist says this in the Gospel of John. I feel there are too many 'Christians' puffed up with pride and arrogance, everyone seems to have it 'right'. I only know this; I am changing everyday from the inside out, and Christ has taken up residence in my heart. I think the simpler we keep the gospel, the more effective it is. Too much time is spent 'splitting hairs' when we should be reaching out to the lost, not arguing with the saved as to who 'has it right'.

JD, If water baptism were necessary to receive the Holy Ghost, then how do you explain the thief on the cross? Personally, I know the moment I was broken and cried out to God, I received His forgiveness, and was sealed with His Holy Spirit. I know this because my life drastically changed, my thinking changed, all at that very moment of brokenness. My water baptism came several months later. The thief received no water baptism at all, and many do not. Those who repent on their deathbed and believe receive the same reward as those who have been baptized and walked with the Lord for 50 years.

The 'payoff' comes by following God's word, not some greedy man or woman who use God's word for their own financial gain. She would have done well to read 1st Timothy 6:5, 'useless wranglings of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself. vs.6, Now godliness with contentment is GREAT gain. vs. 7, for we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry NOTHING out. vs. 8, and having food and clothing, with these we shall be content. vs. 10, For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.' We must enter heaven through the narrow door.

g.g. this is from biblegateway.com...Peter's testimony that Jesus was the Christ.

Our Lord declared Peter to be blessed, as the teaching of God made him differ from his unbelieving countrymen. Christ added that he had named him Peter, in allusion to his stability or firmness in professing the truth. The word translated to rock, to is not the same word as Peter, but is of a
similar meaning. Nothing can be more wrong than to suppose that Christ meant the person of Peter was the rock. Without doubt Christ himself is the Rock, the tried foundation of the church; and woe to him that attempts to lay any other! Peter's confession is this rock as to doctrine. If Jesus be not the Christ, those that own him are not of the church, but deceivers and deceived.

Hope this clears it up for you.

Abigail, I do not appreciate your insinuation that I am calling my Lord and Savior a liar. You have a twisted view of scripture, and I will no longer post anything regarding you. You have a 'my way or the hiway' attitude and resort to insults for those who disagree.
Lurker explains it best in his post:
Strive all we may ***to reckon the old man dead*** (and we must strive lest we be chastened Heb 12:6-8)) it is impossible in the mortal corruptible state to be immortal and incorruptible. This is a fact and to deny it is folly. The only claim to sinless perfection we can make in this life is the imputed perfection of our Lord and Savior by way of the indwelling Holy Spirit.
In reading Abigail's posts she implies Christians must strive to attain to sinless perfection and in so doing she denies the imputed righteousness of Christ and betrays herself as working to achieve perfection in the flesh. Instead of striving to continually reckon the old carnal nature dead (which is what we must do by grace) and looking to and resting on the righteousness and sinless perfection of Christ by faith; she works iniquity for whatever is not of faith is sin.
God bless you Lurker for your simple, yet powerful statement of truth.

Abigail, Understand this; Christ sets us free from the bondage of sin upon the new birth. This speaks of habitual, willful sins. Those who commit sexual immorality, for instance, are set free from that bondage. However, if someone cuts you off in traffic and you call them 'stupid', or worse, then you must repent and ask for forgiveness. It doesn't give us a license to go out and murder, be sexually immoral, or be prideful by any means. Also, if you do not confess your sins daily, you will be out of fellowship with God. God also chastens those who are possibly thickheaded and having trouble discerning. For instance, I was having trouble taking instructions from a young foreman. Several months passed, and repeated disciplinary procedures, but I finally learned a lesson. To believe that we could possibly attain sinless perfection in a world under the curse of sin is a lie. We are to strive for this, yes, and rely on Christ for help. This is where Almighty God delights in His abundance of mercy, not in our sin, but in His outpouring of mercy when we crawl to Him on bended knee, tears streaming down our face, and crying out 'Father, forgive me'...

If this woman was doing a good deed, why was she plastered all over every major news network telling everybody about it? "But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing" Matthew 6:3. I just think she might have been better off keeping a low profile.

R.K.
Thank you, I had quite a chuckle when I read your post!! Praise God for your sense of humor!! I find it funny that the Council of Trent in 1545, and the Second Vatican Council in 1965 re-affirmed the dogma of purgatory and issued a curse on anyone who refused to believe it. This sounds like a stunt Benny Hinn would pull.

The Holy and Catholic Church is Not the Roman Catholic Church
Published December 20th, 2007 by Ken Silva in Emerging Church, Catholicism, Ecumenism, General, New Evangelicalism

There is a major myth perpetually perpetrated by papal pretenders and their apostate Roman Catholicism that when we read the “holy and catholic church” in the ancient creeds this is actually a reference to the Roman Catholic Church. This piece over at Apprising Ministries clearly sets the record straight...Go to Christianresearchnetwork.com for the details

Jim Lincoln, it doesn't bother you, as a Christian, that the Bushes financed Hitler?

That the Bushes have been Skull and Bonesmen for several generations?

That there are pics plastered all over the Net of the Bushes flashing the devil hand signal during the past inauguration?

It doesn't bother you that the Bushes are regulars at Bohemian Grove?

Does the Franklin Coverup concern you at all? You can watch the documentary online (Conspiracy of Silence), prepared to be aired on the Discovery Channel, but spiked, also reported in the Washington Times, which Wikipedia claims was a "hoax." [Since when does the Washington Times publish hoaxes? This shows where Wikipedia is coming from (wiki meaning witch)].

The Franklin Coverup, authored by Congressman John DeCamp, re the Republican pedophile ring that abducted children from Nebraska's Boys Town, flew them to parties where they were passed around, and that the trail led straight to the Reagan White House. This book will turn your stomach.

And Bush, Sr. had a steady supply of boys brought to him at Camp David while he was VP.

None of this bothers you, just blow it off?

Lance, facts are facts.

Fact: Skull and Bones does exist and nobody denies George W. Bush, George HW Bush and Prescott Bush all were and are Bonesmen.

Fact: Bohemian Grove also exists. The film of their Druidic Cremation of Care Ceremony can be viewed online, filmed by Alex Jones about five years ago.

If you've never heard of Skull and Bones or Bohemian Grove, you are willfully ignorant. The information is available, easily obtained, and for you to sneer at this information shows your regard for the truth.

Narrow-minded, fearful people who hate the truth aren't Christians. A Christian has received a love of the truth, seeks it out, embraces and recognizes it for what it is.

Good news or bad news, if it's true, it deserves to be acknowledged and dealt with.

A picture is worth a thousand words. I've yet to see any "debunking sites" claiming the pics of Bush flashing the devil hand sign during the inauguration are Photoshop frauds.

It's time to stop idolizing people who are into death, skulls, torture and perversion; flaming Satanists, literal vampires who come out at night after removing their public masks of patriotism and Christianity.

Eutychus complains: "I am tired of hearing abut Prescott Bush, really tired. If a man has a relative of the worst stripe, that doesn't mean he is also terribly evil. Even if Prescott Bush was Hitler's right hand man, that would never prevent George W. Bush from being most loyal to our Republic."

Prescott, George Herbert Walker and George Walker Bush, all three, were and are Skull and Bonesmen, Satanists, traitors, Nazi eugenicists, and Illuminati henchmen opportunists. It's NOT LIKELY GWB is "most loyal to our Republic."

There's a special reserved place at Bohemian Grove for the Bushes, who frequently attend. Bohemian Grove, the place where the rich and famous go for homosexual and pedophile orgies, alleged murders, sacrifice to Molech, to plot and hatch megalomania plans for the NWO. Alex Jones snuck in there five years ago and filmed their Druidic Cremation of Care ceremony, and it's available for anybody to see online.

Jesus said you'll not get good fruit from a rotten tree. Have you seen the pics on-line of Bush flashing the devil hand sign?

I'm not making this stuff up. Christians are supposed to be truth lovers, and I'm getting tired of people refusing to click a few buttons and go check things out for themselves on the Net, for running and hiding from the truth
