Great Sermon! Another must listen sermon brothers and sisters. We so 'naturally' understand what the scriptures are, God's purposes, what the church is, what the Gospel is. Saints may we no longer view any man, any portion of God's revealed word, or His kingdom in a natural, old man, old Adam, earthly, fleshly, carnal way again! God's ways and thoughts are SOOOOO much higher than ours. Said another way, we have not come to Mt. Sinai but to Mt. Zion, the heavenly Jerusalem, the one that John sees in Revelation coming down out of heaven. Listen to this man teach the scriptures. At the very least he will give you a lot to think about (scripturally) and perhaps cause you to repent of the way all people naturally think, and thus 'live'! |

Great Sermon! Eschatology matters Saints! Hear this sermon brothers and sisters. Even Peter was rebuked by Christ for thinking of the ways of man instead of the ways of God. Without a holistic, eschatological view of God's unfolding plan of Creation, Israel, new creation in Christ, and ultimately cosmic restoration (new heavens/earth), we quite easily (naturally) reduce the Bible (God's testimony of Himself) into a rule book for living "our" temporal lives. And then, like little children, say "my verse is right and yours is wrong" and, like the Corintians, His body divides over all sorts of earthly things.
How did Saul/Paul know all the words of the O. T. scriptures and yet later counted all things before knowing Christ rubbish (Philippians 3) because he didn't know the Old Testament was portraying life in Christ and ultimately the summing-up of all things in Him. But when taught by Christ, he knew life was "In Him" and consequently our lives should be lived "In Him. Let us all know Him as the scriptures speak of Him and His purposes - such that we grow up into the fullness of Him who is the head. For his glory and our faithful witness to a lost and dying world. |

Great Sermon! Another great reminder of what The Church is, biblically (and is not). Rather than loving and embracing our different callings and giftedness, we 'naturally' still tend to think fleshly. And to the extent this happens, the more today's church mirrors the one Paul wrote to in 1st Corinthians! Understand what Christ's church is - and press into your part/role, and enjoy the other members' parts/roles. His Church looks like a people from every tongue, tribe and nation, because it is. Please forget trying to: 1) build Christ's church (numbers) or 2) make your local assembly look like you and 'people like you'. His way, laid out in scripture, is His Church, embrace Him and enjoy His body! In light of these things, what kind of people ought we to be? |

Great Sermon! this man is gifted to coagulate the scriptures! What an overview of redemptive history (in just one sermon, that focuses on just a couple words in Romans 1) - wow. Listen, you will be blessed! Most of us know little about the Old Testament and even less about the prophets (especially the 12 minors). In one sermon Mr. Culver connects Genesis 3 and Genesis 15, 2nd Samuel, 1 Chronicals, Isaiah, the Psalms, the Prophets, Romans 1, and Luke 1 - ALL showing the Bible's seamless Redemptive Revelation. If you like the sermon listen to his 3 introductory sermons on the book of Zechariah. You might learn more about the Old Testament than you know thus far! |
