“God wrote... Rom 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is *NO* power but of God: the powers that be are *ORDAINED* of God." Is this true or not in your book?”Yes. But if you apply that to all governments you would argue that it would have been wrong to oppose Hitler. After all, “there is *NO* power but of God: the powers that be are *ORDAINED* of God”. Secondly, Dr P would have been wrong to oppose the 1998 Agreement. After all it was approved by “the higher powers” and “there is *NO* power but of God” i.e. they were right to release the prisoners. I stand by my comment which is in total agreement with the statement written by our moderator and signed by our ministers. Strangely those who had a problem with that interpretation of Romans 13:3 were quite in 1998. Consider the following: 1. Can it be right for you to say in your church and in numerous other places that you will never do something and then go it (consider 1 John 2:21)? 2. Can it be right to make a speech about the victims of violence and be in such a position that you feel unable to say who made those people victims? 3. Can it be right to share power with murderers (Gerry Kelly will work in Doc’s office and has a murder conviction http://en.wikipedia.org/wik |

Mr Wilson, “that it was not the decision of Dr Paisley to be called to be first Minister” Yes it was. An IRA leader would not be joint PM of N.I. without his agreement.“only through God himself who chose this great Man of God to be his Servant in Poltics” God did not tell anyone to serve Him by breaking His Word (Romans 13:3). “and preaching the faithful word of God” Like when he wrote a statement which was signed by most if not all Free P ministers which said that it was “unscriptural, unethical and immoral … to share power with those who have supported and advocated violence” or said in the Revivalist “When my electorate voted for me they voted for a covenant that we would not sit down today or tomorrow or any other time with SF/IRA full stop.” “It is time for us all who are true Christians to move forward to peace in N.Ireland.” It is time for us to stand up and say this is wrong. “I know because i was brought up in the trubles years and years ago” I know because I live here and have seen the Troubles first hand too. Putting those who caused the Troubles in gov is NOT God’s will. |
