Chase..1john is written to believers and calls us to obedience I would agree. But obedience is not required for salvation. There are disobedient children of God. If we walk in darkness we lose our fellowship with God. So we might disagree on whether or not obedience is required. I don't think the Bible teaches that it is..the blood of Christ is sufficient. I might have misunderstood your position.
Chase from Queen Creek wrote: By the way, in that video I believe MacArthur is stressing the Lordship of Christ. Is it not true that true salvation comes with obedience? Or have you never had the time to read 1 John with all your critiquing of JM? 🧐
Chase, where in 1John does it teach that true salvation comes with obedience?
John UK asks.."Do you know what the gospel says a sinner must do to be saved?" If John MacArthur's answer lines up with scripture then I am wrong about what I said about him teaching works salvation. I used to listen to his sermons quite often and only recently have I had concerns about his teaching. Yes I probably need to be more careful about accusing people of false teaching because I know I have been guilty of the same thing.
