I would say it gives Obama too much credit to assert that he even has an approach to interpreting Scripture, as the headline suggests. Rather, it seems he is simply telling the speechwriter to grab a quote from the. Bible, without any understanding of the context whatsoever. Obama doesn't need a spiritual adviser. He needs a Bible teacher.
If Joel Hunter is his "spiritual advisor", he must not be doing much advising. Obama has little understanding of Scripture. His misuse of the Word for his own political objectives will incur the wrath of his oving, yet holy and just, Creator.
Christopher is right. By backing out and issuing his statement of surrender, Giglio is saying "Well I stand for the gospel and marriage is no so important that I would step into the fire and be a distraction". Marrkiage and the gospel are intertwined in Scripture. We are the bride of Christ. Husbands love your wives as Christ loves the Church and gave himself for her. What God has joined, no one can separate. Giglio should have made them disinvite him. or shown up as a Godly witness with a backbone.
I am 43 and didn't know I was old and dying. Ask people if they think a homosexual couple is as good as a mother and father in raising a child and they say no. But that is what equality means. Pro sodomite marriage advocates cant have it both ways.
