A True Blessing In studying Leviticus, Pastor Mahan has a simple way of explaining things so that those of us who aren't familiar with Jewish law or tradition can understand without being overwhelmed or confused. I truly like that.
Basically, Pastor Mahan takes the subject of atonement and breaks it down so that we can see the similarities relating to Christ and His sacrifice for us. What God initially intended for the Jews and how it would play out later on with His son. So simple. It only had to be explained simplistically and coherently.
This is worth a listen for whosoever wants to delve into the more intimate details of sacrifice/atonement and what it all means. You won't be disappointed. |

Eye Opener From the beginning of the sermon, Pastor Mahan states twice that the title of the sermon is "The Ear, the Thumb and the Toe". I don't know why it was posted up incorrectly.
If you want to know more about the believer's relationship with God, this sermon will serve quite well for that. It explains the three most critical and important parts of our relationship with God. I was pleasantly surprised by this.
Normally, I have always seen Leviticus as the book of the law and didn't see much beyond that, but now I have been shown that there is much, much more there relating to Christ.
I am glad that I gave this sermon a chance. |

Curious Sermon I love Henry Mahan. I love his style of preaching. He preaches the true word of God. But for the first time in listening to him; in this sermon, I heard definite struggling. This was a hard sermon for Henry to preach. I have been looking for someone who could explain Matthew 18:9 (if the eye offend thee). I wanted a clearer understanding of the meaning of that scripture. This was a hard task for Henry. I came away with a little more understanding, but I wish he could have done better. Everybody has bad days, this was one of Henry's. |

Duplicate Sermon This is the exact same sermon as the one dated 1962. Same titles. This one just has the first 10 minutes of the service included. But this one and the one dated 1962 are both cut off abruptly at the end in mid sentence. I wonder what the rest of the sermon was..... |

Sermon Cut Off This is a good sermon, as all of Rolfe's are. But this sermon is cut off at the end in mid sentence. I would have liked to have heard the end of it. Also, the sermon by the same title dated 2004 is this exact same sermon except you have the first 10 minutes of the service included. Both of these stop at the same point. |

Perfect Sermon One of Henry's finest sermons. Actually it is a sermon at all, more like a teaching. For anyone who is not clear on communion and what it's TRUE meaning is - then listen to this. You need it, trust me.
I wasn't clear on it myself - thanks churches & preachers of today. But Henry explained it and now I know what it is. It's simple when you understand it. |

Sermon Titled Incorrectly The correct title is "Seven WORDS From Calvary. The first 1/3 of the sermon Henry talks about patience and learning how to read the Word of God. He references Romans, Luke & Hebrews. Then he finally states the name of the sermon and starts getting into the body of the sermon. |

Is This A Two Part Sermon? There are two sermons, identically marked, same exact date - BUT the times are different. As well as the scripture references. Is it correct to assume that the is Part 1 since it is 1 Corinthians? |

Outstanding Sermon Mr Koelsch deserves a hearty and sincere THANK YOU for taking on the task of giving voice to Spurgeon's sermons. It makes a huge difference in reading them and then in hearing them.
Why do the preachers of today not get it? Why is it that Spurgeon understood the most basic things of scripture and could impart them to others clearly and simply? Where is the difficulty in doing this?
I thought I understood ELECTION until I listened to this sermon. We are taught in this day and time that ELECTION is part of predestination and Spurgeon says NAY! He also explains why.
At the 29:30 mark, Spurgeon explains EXACTLY what ELECTION is. And in the hearing of this I came to realize instantly just how inundated we are today with false teachers and preachers, who preach their own definition of election. How sad. On the other hand how glorious - because we have Spurgeon's sermons and there is a light at the end of the tunnel and THANK GOD it is not an oncoming train.
Because of Spurgeon and his teaching I now have confidence in my own salvation (because I can now understand it). Where before, due to the preachers of today I had doubt. Woe to them that preach other than the truth. Woe. |

Always Impressed As always, Henry impresses me with his deep understanding and beautiful delivery of the word of God. I learn so much from him. This particular sermon is outstanding in its depth of teaching. Henry references the following scripture:
1 John 4
2 John 1:11
Hebrews 13
Acts 4:32
Isaiah 42
Romans 6:6
Deuteronomy 13:6
Luke 14:25-33
The title is misleading in a way to those who aren't in tune with Henry and his style. What Henry is teaching is about being a bond servant and counting the costs. |

Incorrect Title of Sermon This sermon is incorrectly titled. In the very first moments of the sermon Henry clearly states that he will be speaking on the subject of Jehovah Shalom from Philippians 1:6. |

Incorrect Scripture Reference This particular sermon is based upon Job Chapter 14 verses 1-5. Henry reads the scripture at the beginning. Ecclesiastes is the secondary scripture used.
The sermon is referencing a young boy who had died suddenly after a sporting event and how people deal with sudden death and catastrophe. How death affects people.
As always, Henry is spot on and is ALWAYS a joy to listen to. How I wish I could have known about him when he was alive. I thank God for Henry Mahan and that God used Henry in the way that He did. |

Transcript Is Incorrect I was gathering transcripts for the sermons of Henry that I already have and noticed that the sermon "The People of God" is 1 Peter 1 - BUT the transcript that is attached to this sermon is entitled "The Spirit of Truth" and references John 16:1-15. Would like to have the original transcript. |

Inaccurate Bible Reference The sermon lists the bible reference as Matthew 2:8-9. However, the PDF transcript clearly shows the scripture reference as being Matthew 8:1-4. In the audio sermon, Henry clearly states that he is reading from Matthew Chapter 8 verses 1 through 3. |
