We have just watched a clip of the so called "Rev." Wright on the BBC, and they had to Bleep out some of his words?
This guy is no more a Pastor, no more a Christian than a plastic duck.
Anyone who follows him is at the very least vacuous between the ears. But to have him as some sort of an advisor, to a possible future president is on the scale between absurd and ludicrous.
Obama's worst enemy appears to be himself.

Eph 1:4 "According as *HE* hath *CHOSEN* us in him *BEFORE* the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
5 Having *PREDESTINATED US* unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, *ACCORDING* to the good pleasure of *HIS WILL*,
6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;"

The real question in all of this is,
"Did Patrick convert any Leprechauns?"

There are those who believe that they believe, - then there are those with Faith!!

Matt 7:21 "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."

Rev 3:15 "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth."

"We want to show that this new mosque can be just as much a part of the community as a football ground."

And the football grounds in Palestine, Indonesia and Pakistan are what cause all the troubles in those areas. Of course.

Headline News!!
*Suicide Bomb Football fan blows up the opposite team to win the F.A cup*

Yeah there's sense in that, isn't there???....

The Muslim invasion of Britain and Europe has a specific long term aim, to convert or kill.

Minnow...there really doesn't appear to be any redemption in your heart for Catholics...is there? Even those who are kicked out must be punished. I thought at least you would have compassion for fellow malcontents.
No GG, Don't forget, we left - we didn't get kicked out. We left to form the real Church back in the 16th century.
You should leave too and join a Reformed Church.

GG wrote:
How ironic for a man like Ion to set up a holiday for a Roman Catholic Saint.
GG
Don't forget that prior to the Reformation and the subsequent formation of the TRUE Church (Reformed), there were some REAL Christians in the RCC.

Look at how good a Calvinist, Augustine was for example.

The battle for the Truth and the True Witness has been going on throughout history. Even some of the Pharisees were converted to the True witness.

So the True Christian witness was happening before the Reformers, by the grace of God, ditched the papist heresy and formed the Protestant Church.

Sadly though the Protestant witness has been infiltrated again, by Arminian and Liberal - salvation by works. So popish style heresy has again tainted the Protestant witness even today.

"We are loyal daughters of the church, and we stand in the prophetic tradition of holy (canonical) disobedience to an unjust man-made law that discriminates against women.""

"Daughters" of the Anti-Christ who aspired to priesthood of the antichrist and are complaining because they have been thrown out of the papistry?

There is a kind of poetic justice in the whole debacle.

"...it did not condemn same-sex unions. The panel – comprised of Lutheran clergy, lay people and academics – acknowledged that the denomination had yet to reach consensus on such unions even after years of study and conversation."

Whats to discuss???

Lev 18:22 "Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination"

Rom 1:26 "For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman,...."

Because they "changed the Truth of God into a lie..."

There is only one way to accept perversion and legalise it, - Ditch the Law and the Word of God.

JD wrote:
the points I have made have been largely ignored
JD cannot receive the Biblical precept of Total Depravity. Hence does he seek to establish the idea that OT saints overcame sin by themselves, to the exclusion of grace and the Holy Spirit.

Thus does he reject the Bible teaching that the Holy Spirit, alone, has always enabled the sinner to come to salvation.
JD comes from the old papist/arminian position that salvation begins with human effort, - thus salvation by works! (And then of course their is Dispensationalism)

The OT does not teach "indwelling" simply because the OT did not teach Trinity!
Only in retrospect can we see that.

This teaching emerges and belongs to the NT, whence God Incarnate came to finish the complete doctrine, and teach the Son's and the Spirit's work.

Thus do we perceive that the Bible is ONE COMPLETE revelation, OT plus NT combined!

Nobody else will be saved.

"“Sin,” as defined by the research organization, is “something that is almost always considered wrong, particularly from a religious or moral perspective.”"

"...almost always..."??????

The problem here is that most, or all, of the people questioned, like the originators of the survey, - DON'T know what sin really is.

The westminsters and the divines and many of the reform writers are your enemies and you are duped into thinking they are your friends
Because they DON'T accept, teach and preach JD'ism, dispensationalism, synergism, arminianism and antinomianism.

Because they DO teach the Biblical Doctrines of Grace, the precepts and the Laws of Scripture.

Aaww c'mon Lance.
You know as well as we do, the most dangerous false religions are those that are a razors edge away from the truth. Thats why the RCC is far more dangerous than the Muslims, whose religion can easily be repudiated.

BTW The "Immaculate Conception" is complete fallacy. Now can you receive the Truth?
If you can then get to a Reformed Church near you quick.

"Luther always affirmed the imputed righteousness of Christ (i.e. extrinsic justification, not "transformative righteousness") as the heart of the gospel. He properly contended that without this truth there is no gospel at all. A whole generation of evangelicals pay lip service to Luther yet deny the central tenet of his thought."

"A judge in Salem, Mass., which calls itself "Witch City,""

OK, Here is the Real Judgment on Salem's judiciary.

Exodus 22:18 Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.

Deuteronomy 18:10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
11. Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
12. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

Re: JD's Dispensational position.

"This basic inherent weakness results from the foundational dispensational assumption that there is a strong dichotomy between Israel and the church such that the Old Testament saints will not be in the Body and Bride of Christ in eternity. This means that the dispensational system contains a presuppositional prejudice against the Old Testament saints' being in Christ and under the covenant headship of Christ. The dispensational system imposes upon its consistent adherents the necessity of explaining Old Testament salvation in such a way that Old Testament salvation does not involve covenant membership in the Body of Christ. To be in covenant union with Christ is to be in the Body and Bride of Christ, and to be in the Body and Bride of Christ is to be in the church universal, and for the Old Testament saints to be in the church universal is to deny dispensationalism.

According to Dr. Paul Lee Tan:
To see the church as the Body of Christ, an organism different from Old Testament Israel, is to read Scripture dispensationally and to qualify as a dispensational interpreter."
(Rev G. Gunn)

it is often unhealthy or irresponsible for a woman to have large family if there are not enough resources to take care of it.
Children are the gift of God. Trust in Him to take care of the family and the children of covenanted believers.

The Lord did not invent contraception, man did, to increase the service of the god of mammon. It is a chemical "decision" destroying motherhood and family.

"Now, the Catholic Church says pollution, mind-damaging drugs and genetic experiments are on its updated thou-shalt-not list."

What on earth are they complaining about? One of the worst sins is "heresy" and they are "Immersed" in it. You Arminians out there should consider the example of the RCC carefully. There but for the Grace of God - go you. (Read that last bit closely).
