If Baptism does not impart salvation but is simply a dedication to Jesus then Infant Baptism is just as valid as Adult Baptism is.

Now now, less of these big words please DD. And be a bit more specific, eh? Like verse? Or even the chapter would give me something to go on.

Sure, Dhoby, that all applies to me, but you seem to be implying that this 'covenant' somehow applies to all children who have been 'dedicated' to Jesus. How come?

And where do you find children 'dedicated' to Jesus in the Bible please?

And what effect, pray, does a covenantal "benefit" have upon a child?
Acts 3:25 Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the COVENANT which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. 26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

Eph 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the COVENANTS of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13 BUT NOW in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

Heb 8:10 For this is the COVENANT that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

Heb 13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting COVENANT, 21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. A

If the baby is one of the elect then he/she is saved - if the baby is not elect then he/she will not be saved!
The only "benefit" available to the child is Covenantal.

This is the same "benefit" available to you guys who discriminate against babies because of their age and inability to verbally declare that which can only be perceived in the heart.

Now John, Do you know who can read the heart?

Not all Israel - is Israel!

The only benefit that is bestowed upon the baby during Infant Dedication/Infant Baptism is that the baby is dedicated to Jesus. Salvation is not imparted to the baby. Just as Adult Baptism/Adult Dedication is just a dedication of adults to Jesus.

(2)Well if a baby is Baptized then the baby was dedicated to Jesus because Infant Baptism is Infant Dedication. However if a baby is never Baptized or Dedicated to Jesus because their parents are unbeleivers and do not attend church and the baby passes away then the baby will go to Heaven.
Since Baptism(Infant and Adult) does not impart salvation then the only logical belief to have concerning Baptism is that Baptism(Infant and Adult) is just a dedication of infants and adults to Jesus.

Okay I'll respond, but I have some questions first.
#1 Exactly what does an infant dedication to Jesus do for the infant, John?
#2 If an infant is not dedicated to Jesus, does that make any difference to the child?
#3 If the answers are 1. nothing, 2. no
#4 What then is the point?

If Infant Baptism is just a dedication of infants to Jesus then Infant Baptism and Infant Dedication is one and the same. Just as Adult Baptism is really Adult Dedication.

If you want to live under the Old Testament Covenant go for it, just know that you put yourself under obligation to keep the whole law...think you can do that?

You have missed a very significant aspect of the New Testament Covenant. the OT Covenant was indeed patriachal BUT the NT Covenant is individual.

John 1
12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Points to this reality clearly, as being born to the right parents, anything they might do for you and anything you might do for yourself has nothing to do with having the right to be a child of God, one who is born again according to the will of God.

People can live by whatever religious fantasy of make believe they like best but God says:

"You must be born again."

Now the word of God does say:
quote.....

.....show me a baby who believes according to Romans 10:9,10 and I say sure we ought to baptize them by immersion....Now have you ever seen an infant believe?
Further the word of God teaches parent to bring their children up in the discipline and admonition of the Lord...it is kind of silent on going through any kind of Catholic religious ritual

Michael
The Word of God states
"10 This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised.
12 And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house..."

Now that takes care of the age problem you have - so there is no need for you to discriminate against babies.

A verbal declaration to other mortals is not required according to Scripture. As for God - He elects them in the first place and reads hearts.

Circumcision has now been replaced by baptism and the girls are now included.

PS. Immersion is NOT neccessary.
