Highly Significant Sermon The impact of the Gospel
succinctly carried out and delivered. I will repeat listening to this sermon to meditate on it for good.
I so appreciate this encouragement Especially here in the spiritual wasteland of the Chicago suburbs, and what Rev. Thackway preaches is true: God is with us, and if we seek the Lord, he will be found, amd he draws near to those who draw near to him--he never turns away anyone who turns to him in humility, repentance. and dependence.
Yet another meaningful sermon from Rev. Thackway Yet another meaningful, encouraging, and providential sermon from Rev. Thackway such as I have never heard in the shallow, superficial spiritual wasteland of the Chicago suburbs; I have grown to love the Psalms through Dom Green's exposition of them at Truth Community Church in Cincinnati as well as Davis Dickson's commentary on the Psalms.
Yet another meaningful sermon from Rev. Thackway I just have never heard meaningful and encouraging preaching such as Rev. Thackway's in the shallow, superficial spiritual wasteland of the Chicago suburbs and certainly not from the academically detached OPC which idolizes John Piper and Timothy Keller.
Yet another meaningful sermon from Rev. Thackway The likes of which I would NEVER expect to hear in the vapid, shallow, and superficial nominally Reformed church in the overly affluent United States except for Truth Community Church in Cincinnati.
Such a typically meaningful sermon from Rev. Thackway Such as I never have heard nor would ever expect to hear in the shallow and superficial spiritual wasteland of the Chicago suburbs and least of all from the whited sepulchre of the OPC, particularly the OPC in Crystal Lake, Illinois, which offered no hope or encouragement whatsoever to a new convert.
Insightful and Encouraging I was reminded in this sermon of how Bunyan describes in his book, Grace Abounding to The Chief of Sinners, one of the ways that he was taught of The Spirit to interpret God’s Word correctly while Satan was suggesting false interpretations and applications to him, in order to confuse and discourage him greatly.
Bunyan says that he was enabled to see, through this experience of satan’s attempts to deceive him, that he was to “labor to take The Word as God had laid it down, without restraining the force of one syllable thereof”. Prior to this he had been afraid to carefully look into the meaning of some threatening verses.
Satan, of course, is real, and he engages in this practice now attempting to discourage and lead to despair those who come to Christ for salvation.
Pastor Thackway, in this sermon takes an interesting and seeming obscure verse of scripture, and doing just as Bunyan learned to do, he takes each syllable of this verse in its force and scope as God put it down, and thereby derives great lessons for us.
Thank You Lord, for Pastor Thackway and his church, for their faithfulness to You and Your Word in this dark time on this earth, and do be pleased to bless and keep him and them in Your grace and power, I pray, in Jesus Name.
Great sermon I learned so much by listening to this sermon! What a revolutionary thought to know that angels have been looking over me and caring for me since I was born! I had never thought about it before
Very encouraging sermon God is ever near and walking with us continually - Amen! Exactly what my soul needed to hear. When I am going through a trial I start doubting that God is aware of my troubles and fears but this sermon reminded me of God’s promises.
THANK YOU Thank you for this wonderful teaching which also encouraged me greatly in my walk with the Lord. There are far too many things to point out that helped but I was so delighted to hear of Deuteronomy 29:29 which clearly tells us we are not intended to know everything in detail, but what God wants us to:He has revealed in the Bible for us.🇦🇺
Great Sermon! Mr. watts, I have listened to more of your sermons on sermon audio than any other man. I am glad that you preached for so long and helped others to believe the gospel.
A word in season for the weary. This sermon will encourage anyone who is near despair with their trials.
It was a such a word in season to me and a blessing to my soul.
Clearly, Rev. Watts speaks from personal experience as he conveys, so articulately, the sense of desperation that David felt when penning this Psalm and specifically verse 13.
You cannot afford not to listen to this!
Hear a wise and compassionate Consultant If you'd gladly walk 100 miles to hear the right diagnosis and prescription for the cure then you must hear this wonderful gospel message. Also a loving warning for us all to avoid the false alternative practitioners and seek only the pulpit ministry that ever points to the Great Physician of souls and His Remedy.
