GREATLY needed to hear this. Thank you! John Newton
My grace is sufficient for thee.
2 Corinthians 12:9
Oppressed with unbelief and sin,
Fightings without, and fears within;
While earth and hell, with force combined,
Assault and terrify my mind.
What strength have I against such foes,
Such hosts and legions to oppose?
Alas! I tremble, faint, and fall,
LORD save me, or I give up all.
Thus sorely pressed I sought the LORD,
To give me some sweet cheering word;
Again I sought, and yet again,
I waited long, but not in vain.
O! ’twas a cheering word indeed!
Exactly suited to my need;
“Sufficient for thee is my grace,
Thy weakness my great pow’r displays.”
Now despond and mourn no more,
I welcome all I feared before;
Though weak I’m strong, though troubled blest,
For CHRIST’S own pow’r shall on me rest.
My grace would soon exhausted be,
But his is boundless as the sea;
Then let me boast with holy Paul,
That I am nothing, CHRIST is all.
Worth Repeating! "Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
Amen! Come, Lord Jesus! To thee our wants are known,
From thee are all our pow'rs;
Accept what is thine own,
And pardon what is ours:
Praises,LORD, and prayers receive,
To thy word a blessing give.
Oh, grant that each of us
Now met before thee here,
May meet together thus,
When thou and thine appear
And follow thee to heav'n our home,
Even so, amen, LORD JESUS, come!
Revelation 22:20

Excellent point! Scripture makes it abundantly clear that a Christian's desire 'to be transformed' into the image of Christ should be greatly important. However, I don't believe that in the twenty years since my conversion, I have ever given this as the second reason, after God being glorified, to anyone who has asked why I believe the Lord saved me. Definitely plenty of 'food for thought' here....Romans 8:28-29; 2 Corinthians 3:18
Thank you for this :) Much needed message as I endeavor, by God's grace, to become more and more like my precious LORD. Psalm 34:12-24; James 3:7-18
Great Sermon! Sending a word of encouragement to you brother David Gay from across the pond.I wanted to let you know your labor is not in vain your teaching is bearing fruit here in the states.Thank you and I am praying for you.
Thoroughly Instructive! Thank you for taking the time and having the courage to share such a thorough, instructive, and solemn message. May God grant us the power to heed it...Ephesians 3:20-21.
SO sad--but true! Timely article, Brother! It appears that the whole world has become a continuous episode of 'The Twilight Zone'. Sadly, I can hardly discern the true from the false --even within professing Christian circles on and off social media. Although these state of affairs might cause much disillusionment to real, born-again, Christ-exalting believers--does not the Word of God warn us that in these last days there will be many 'having a form of godliness' (veneer) 'but denying its power' (reality)...2 Timothy 3:1-5? Looking forward to the continuance of this series!
Another Great Article! Well stated, Brother! And May the LORD keep enabling you to boldly proclaim the mystery of His Gospel! And, most importantly…1 Timothy 1:17.
Amen! Amen! Amen! Whatever our earthly title or class, may God cause us to spiritually hail to Jesus Christ—the everlasting King of kings and Lord of lords—before we die or He returns (Revelation 17:14; 19:11-16).
My sentiments exactly! Thank you for this article, Brother! As I’ve read & meditated on the Word of God and observed the sad, sad, state of what you refer to as ‘Christendom’ here in America and beyond—these have been my thoughts of what the LORD has done repeatedly and will continue to do with His backsliding people to bring us back to Himself and back to what He accepts as TRUE worship (John 4:23-24.) Persecution is indeed most unwelcome & fearful, but it has always proven to be (Old & New Covenant) a very effective instrument in the hand of God for separating His TRUE people from the world and planting and growing His TRUE church—the ecclesia. Judging by God’s Word and the signs of the times, persecution seems to be an inevitable ‘needs be’ to bring about TRUE revival to unite the ecclesia so that we may obtain and demonstrate TRUE God-centered, Spirit-filled love & devotion among ourselves for the glory of God. And we, prayerfully, live out this ecclesia-life with the hopes of God using us to bring many lost souls from Satan’s kingdom of darkness into our LORD’S kingdom of marvelous light! But, ‘who is sufficient for these things?’ we may ask. And, the answer for God’s TRUE people is what it has always been and what it will always be until we die or our precious LORD returns…2 Corinthians 12:9-10.
Great Sermon! An excellent set of important and sobering thoughts and questions. Does the monologue pulpit increase healthy spirituality? The evidence points to “no.” What then is to be our next step?
