The Practice of Humility

“ Humility- submission to Christ and His Word ”
The previous comment erroneously auto-populated great sermon. The sermon missed the point. Humility is first bowing the knee to Christ and His word. This is where humility must begin for the PRC. The PRC must humble herself before God and His word and repent for her doctrinal sins. Then only can she speaks of humility in relation to the neighbor. This true humility will lead to peace and unity in the PRC. Wayne & Sarah

“ Great Sermon! ”
The doctrine of God’s sovereignty and providence are never an excuse for sin. The PRC have sinned before the face of Jehovah in preaching, defending and ignoring the false doctrine of the conditional covenant. They have slain God’s prophets who rebuked them for despising this doctrine. May God grant each one of us and the denomination the gracious gift of repentance (Act 5:31). Instead of excusing our sin and therein finding the ground of our justification, may we confess our sin and look to the perfect obedience and righteousness of Jesus Christ. Herein is hope and peace! We pray earnestly for the PRC, and those who are responsible individually and corporately for slaying the prophets of Jehovah. May God grant us the gracious gift of repentance and may the blood of our Lord and Savior wash our blood stained hearts and hands, who by silence or connivance have been partakers. May God be merciful to us, sinners. Love in our Lord and Savior. Wayne & Sarah Courtney

“ Simple gospel! ”
"It is a culpable sin for the minister of the gospel to be confusing. If the trumpet gives an uncertain sound, who will prepare himself for battle? Besides, the gospel is easy." As a member of the PRC, a reader of the Standard Bearer, and an avid student of all that has taken place in the last few years, this explanation of the text is spot on and true assessment of the PRC today. Praise be to God for the simple gospel...may He be merciful to bring us back to it.

“ Praise be to God for his gift of ministers! ”
In a day and age where the pure preaching of the gospel is sullied by a giving in to the clamoring for "practical preaching" which is man-centered preaching, the word of Christ to his church in this text couldn't be more necessary or clear. Praise be to God for his gift of faithful ministers!

The Necessity of Good Works

“ Great Sermon! ”
Wow, what a terrific sermon. It answered my concerns. My Pastor preaches that all one has to do is believe to be saved, but no follow up to that. So any one who says I believe is saved. So hard for me to explain how he does it. But you explained well the necessity of Good works upon being saved through Faith and by GRACE alone, which I failed to explain it well to him. I loved your sermon.

“ Thoroughly enjoyed. It brings me such challenge, encouragement and hope. ”
Curious as to where I may read about your insight in James about “ whosoever will be a friend of ...” is that part of the word, its usage in Christian writings, or something else? Good and helpful insight. I will study it.

“ Running the race ”
We are not running a physical race of empty vanity as evident in the Olympics, but a spiritual race, including one involving trials coming our way. Remember Philippians 3:14-15.
