“ Humbling ”
Pastor Webb demonstrates the dangerous condition of the American church, in which we have at least 2 generations of "Christian" families unschooled in biblical truth. It made me grateful for the consistent exposure to God's word I encountered in my home as a child. It also challenged me to give my children the blessing of a biblical vision of the greatness of God and of His saving work in Christ from the full scope of the Scriptures. By the way - listen for the voices of the children in the background - beautiful!

“ Much needed correction! ”
The self-esteem anti-gospel is not good news, as it points people to the paucity of the fallen human soul. But the gospel that "our God reigns" is good news. Thank you, Pastor Webb, for preaching this truth so hated by the world.

“ Truth Spoken in Love ”
Pastor Webb speaks the hard truth of God's just wrath against sinners, compassionately appealing to sinners to flee from the wrath to come into the only shelter -- Jesus Christ. The exposition of the text is enlightening and the exhortation is convicting. May God graciously give us more messages like this!

“ Timely Call! ”
God is sovereign over all nations! His common grace falls on Edom, Moab, Ammon and America. But, do we want a blessing like Esau had, or do we live for every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus our Lord. Pastor Webb wisely counsels and exhorts us to look for a better, yea, a heavenly country.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Pastor Webb exposes a serious temptation for leaders among God's people -- fear of man. He points us to our accountability to God for the souls under our care as a check to that fear.

“ Sound Teaching! ”
Pastor Webb makes us hungry for a thorough study of Deuteronomy as he sets out on a series on this book. His introductory remarks give us direction for how to pursue this study with him. I especially appreciate the emphasis on paying close attention to the text itself and not falling into the trap of over-confidence in comparative religions and Ancient Near Eastern studies which too often obfuscate the clear meaning of the text. Pastor Webb's expertise in history is definitely evident, not paraded for adulation, but well placed to help give us context for appreciating the message of Deuteronomy. He also has a helpful critique of the principle oriented approach to much contemporary preaching and publishing. Thanks Pastor Webb.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Pastor Webb, reminds us that even in the west conversion to Christ can lead to familial strife. But his point that in Christ we don't truly suffer loss, but experience gain, enourages us to enjoy the blessing of belonging to the family of Christ, even while we pray for our biological family members who are not in Christ.

I don't often recommend sermons, but this one on the relationship between pastors and their congregations is one of the best I've heard. This is well worth listening to.

“ Excellent! ”
Excellent presentation, documented, humorous. I liked very much the transposition of the subject to the case of George Washington, etc. Very good the arguments from the Apostolic Fathers quoting the Bible before the Council of Nicaea, and the quotation from Pliny. Sadly, sometimes not very good sound.

Save the Lord's Day!

“ This message speaks my heart!!! ”
I agree full heartedly with the Message of Saving the Sabbath. I have worked in Retail for nearly 9 years, and upon being hired I asked for Sundays off. This has been honored and I have not had problems with it. However, since I went into Management I had to agree that altho I do not regularly work on Sundays, that I be willing if occassionally I must. Sadly, this Easter no one will work as my backup. I asked to be able to go to church at least, and that request is being granted, but I must come back to work immediately following church. I cannot tell you how grieved I am. I was raised that Sundays are the Lord's Day. I raised my Children in the same way. Each of them, upon receiving a job, stipulated Sundays off for church...and it was honored. This subject has concerned me for years. However even when I have mentioned it to some Christians, they tell me how God understands, and we should not be so "law" oriented. Wow, that is hardly the issue. I set the Sabbath aside because I love and honour my Lord, not just because it is a fundamental belief. God will step in at some point, to America. There are still some of us left Seeking His Face and His Will. I long to see Him Glorified in our Nation! Glorified in the World! Great Sermon!!!

“ Excellent sermon ”
Thank you Pastor Webb for this very sound and easy-to-understand message. As a former homosexual who repented of the gay lifestyle I believe that your comments on homosexuality are absolutely accurate. I also appreciate the fact that you did not single homosexual practice out as THE MAJOR SIN but made it clear, that heterosexual fornication and adultery are just as sinful and displeasing to God. Very timely and helpful message, not only for young people!

If you are listening for AA critiques here is the man to hear. Now, I disagree with his assessment BUT his presence and presentation are very kind and gracious in contrast with others at this site.

What is stunning however was the vitriol expressed by other Koreans towards these kidnapped missionaries. Articles in Korean English Language dailies detailed how fellow Koreans actually sent emails to the Taliban exposing how the missionaries were there to evangelize and not merely to heal and encouraging the Taliban to kill them. How anyone could take sides with the Taliban, especially when these bloodthirsty Jihadis would be just as likely to kidnap and kill as infidel "apes and pigs" the same Koreans who were encouraging them would be impossible to understand were it not for Christ's warning:

"If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you, 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you." (John 15:18-20a)

It may seem bizarre, but just as hatred of Christ caused the Pharisees, Saducees, and Herodians to become friendly and willing to work together, so too hatred of Christ can make bedfellows of Korean Socialists and Afghan Jihadis.

Dear "a non-Christian",

The hatred that the Taliban showed towards the Korean Missionaries was understandable. As Jihadis who are waging "holy war" to establish one worldwide Islamic Caliphate they have nothing but contempt for "kuffars" especially those working to bring the light and peace of the gospel to the nations that have suffered so long under the darkness of Islam. They also think nothing of killing teachers and nurses, blowing up schools, preventing the education of girls and doing whatever it takes to ensure the hegemony of Sharia Law is never questioned. Great shame on all Korean christian missionaries! They have nothing to do with the words of Jesus. You are just salespeople. Simply... empirialist salespeople. Beware of the seeds you are sowing now!

“ Great Sermon! ”
It is a problem, as always as within a developed country, that people become so soft that they forget God's grace and rely on human tradition instead of grace through faith alone. Good study, a little dry, but necessary in the American society, especially in our denominational traditions.
