Sermon:
Biblical Tongues
Rev. Andrew Patterson
1
comment
“ A Clear Word ”
This preacher here gives a full explanation from God's infallible Word on the meaning of "tongues". Many today are taken up with the meaningless babble of charismatic assemblies behind which is a spirit of confusion. Dear listener, if you know any such, this message will be one to send to them that not only clarifies and edifies, but also gives glory to God.

“ Great Sermon! ”
This is a truly wonderful sermon explaining the biblical reasons for wearing a headcovering. Thank you Pastor Andrew for your great exposition and especially for putting it in the context of the 11th chapter of First Corinthians which continues on to detail the celebration of the Lord's supper. I really appreciated this sermon!

God's Mercy Towards the Wanderer
Rev. Andrew Patterson

“ A Debtor to Mercy Alone ”
As one who in years gone by wandered extensively in Bypath Meadow, I can attest to the veracity of these words about David as expounded by Mr Patterson. My only testimony is of how the LORD saved me, even despite a worldly lifestyle, and brought me out of it to Him whose name is great. Perhaps, dear listener, you may know of someone who is backslidden and who would benefit from this message? "and thous shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." Matthew 1 v 21.

“ Wonderful Sermon! ”
This is an awesome sermon and so much is packed in it that it's hard to nail it down but it's the best I've heard on blind Bartimaeus. I believe it would be a great sermon for the lost.

“ Solid, Encouraging Word ”
For those in the midst of discouraging times and circumstances, here is a word on the encouragement of a Friend, even the greater Jonathan. For those who may be in the situation of offering comfort to the afflicted, here is a reminder that emotion won't cut it, but only the word of God to His children. Lots more to meditate on in this sermon and series.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Who cannot among God's people grieve for the backslider that has fled to the world for "comfort"? Believer, if you know any such, here is a word for them -- a word both of warning and yet also of hope. Yet another reason to praise that God who holds all His chosen in His hand.

Seeking Direction?
Rev. Andrew Patterson

“ Engaging The Heart ”
This preacher again lifts up the One who is fairer than ten thousand to my soul. What a blessing to hear and think on this great topic in this series on I Samuel. May the LORD be gracious to those presently without direction in this day and hour of loud worldly distraction to hear and be blessed by these words. "Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies".

Sermon:
How to Prosper Amidst Hostilities
Rev. Andrew Patterson
1
comment
“ Great Sermon! ”
A blessing to resume this long and profitable series. In considering these words spoken in a small church in a small rural town in Ulster, a picture came to me of "mega - chuches", TBN, Arminian and Dispensational "pastors" (some of whom seem to have a permanent mission on the Comments section of SA). In hearing, sometimes with difficulty, the words of this minister speak on David's humility in the face of the applause of the people, even applause that could be said to be deserved, this has a deep meaning to my heart. The message gives the reason for David's prosperity in the face of murderous intent and deceit. It is a comforting one for the Christian, though Mr Patterson does not shrink from reminding his listener of his reponsibilities as a Christian. For those yet without Christ, there is an underlying disquiet here. Are you appearing to prosper in the world? And if so, what does this really mean in view of eternity? Can you be found as an ally of those who cast a javelin at God's servants? Again I was reminded of a very significant verse for my wife and me, "If God be for us, who can be against us?" Romans 8 v 31.

Sermon:
From Field to Palace - In God's Time!
Rev. Andrew Patterson
1
comment
“ Great Sermon! ”
In hearing Mr Patterson's account of the annointing of David as king, many pertinent points were raised. But one stood out for me, and this was that God selected David. Even when he was not present to Samuel's gaze, Samuel was faithful to wait for God's word. In a day when "pastors" tell me that salvation is initiated by the creature and not by the Creator, this is a sobering message. To those who may have been led astray by human-centered theology, this sermon asks you to make your calling and election sure.

Sermon:
God's Chosen Man
Rev. Andrew Patterson
1

“ A Word For Our Dark Time ”
My wife and I rejoice at this faithful and uplifting preaching in which Mr Patterson brings out many blessings from the richness of God's word in this continuing series on First Samuel. God's sovereign love for His people, His correction, His provision, His guidance even in dark days such as this our own time will cause a well of gratitude in the heart of His saved, and a tear to be shed for His great love to us who at best are but unprofitable servants. In a day wherein arrogant men think they can "choose" God, and it is their decision, please hear a correction to this from God's word. Hear of the centrality of the Sacrifice, and not man-centered rituals. Sinner, if you are yet out in the field of the world or false religion in which you may trust and far from God, consider your ways before it be too late.

Sermon:
Saul's Deception, Rejection & Isolation
Rev. Andrew Patterson
1
comment
“ Great Sermon! ”
A vivid picture has been presented these last three chapters of I Samuel by Mr Patterson of the backslider in the person of Saul, and much thought will be given by God's people on this awful picture of spiritual blindness. Saul's many chances are now used up and the kingdom taken from him. Dear child of God, have you lost your joy in the Lord? Is there now a toleration of sin, a denial of personal blame, a concern for public reputation, insincere confession? This message will both rebuke and comfort you. To those outside of Christ, dear sinner, perhaps like Agag of old you may think there is yet time but you do not know what a day may bring forth.

Sermon:
Obedience or Rebellion?
Rev. Andrew Patterson
1
comment
“ Searching Word ”
This message touches on a passage of Scripture which is a fearful word for God's enemies -- their destruction. Mr Patterson's care for those he preaches to is evident in the searching method of his discourse, especially here in his treatment of those who may be backslidden. Again, this is not the type of message, neither in form nor yet in content that would be heard in any "easy believism" church. Proverbs 1 v 23
