Great Sermon! a very excellent exposition if that verse. I read the transcript so I could understand it clearer. So amazingly put together the incident on Mount Sinai and the new covenant fully unveiled today.
Just amazing God's divine court explained clearly, from the just condemnation of sin, to the accuser the devil, to the righteouss advocate who never loses a case, with only one stipulation if you want Him on your side: Confess before Him that you are indeed guilty, you are criminal. Yet even with that confession, the advocate has a 100% success rate before the Judge, God the Father! And then Phil clearly explained how the Judge is so nice, and loving, and compassionate to the sinner, that He Himself sent the advocate in the first place! This also explains the trinity relationship between the Judge and the Advocate! And what about the Verdict? A full pardon, and it is all 100% Legal! And the post trial? A new life for the sinner, a new start, and a happy ending!
Great Sermon! This was a very excellent and interesting sermon on Elijah. I saw this prophet in a different light and surprisingly it also gave me encouragment for my present circumstances.
Good Thoughts! This quote by Spurgeon mentioned in sermon.
"But there are some who say, “It is hard for God to choose some and leave others.” Now, I will ask you one question. Is there any of you here this morning who wishes to be holy, who wishes to be regenerate, to leave off sin and walk in holiness? “Yes, there is,” says some one, “I do.” Then God has elected you. But another says, “No; I don’t want to be holy; I don’t want to give up my lusts and my vices.” Why should you grumble, then, that God has not elected you to it? For if you were elected you would not like it, according to your own confession. If God this morning had chosen you to holiness, you say you would not care for it. Do you not acknowledge that you prefer drunkenness to sobriety, dishonesty to honesty? You love this world’s pleasures better than religion; then why should you grumble that God has not chosen you to religion? If you love religion, he has chosen you to it. If you desire it, he has chosen you to it. If you do not, what right have you to say that God ought to have given you what you do not wish for? C. H. Beautiful Peace Giving Sermon! This Psalm as explained by Brother Phil gave me wonderful assurance and comfort for a difficulty I am going through. It went to the depth of my problem and sadness I'm feeling and all the positive answers here give me the life I will be living in eternity and makes today's trail and sadness something that will soon pass with such a great reward being with Christ Jesus -- Outstanding blesings.
Must hear Sermon! What a powerful explanation of the belief of Job. Brother Phil covers so many aspects of the trials and how Job looks to God for answering his questions about his loses and his eventual resurrection -- Job is a blessing to us when we face problems, sickness and trials. Wonderful sermon.
Comforting Sermon! We do not have to feel alone because Jesus Christ in His Incarnation was just like us but without sin. Our feelings are totally known and felt by Him so we get comfort and strength knowing He was just as us when he have good and bad that happens to us and His love and understanding is with us always.
Exceptional Sermon! The outstanding explanation of the 3 men who wanted to follow Jesus Christ and the weakness of them is greatly brought out by Brother Johnson. His description of other Scripture is very deep and meaningful for our understanding. Phil's "storytelling" is a pleasure to hear.
This is a Sermon that you will want to hear. How dull and insensitive we have become to the marketing of our day.
Your right. When we talk about worldliness, and that’s if we even talk about it at all, it’s always that small list of the same sins. Lord help us to recognize and battle the internal war.
Powerful Sermon! This message does an excellent job outlining the workings of today's "false" churches who are preaching weak and false messages to its congregations -- more like entertainment than Gospel. The spirit of Satan is giving false hope to the deceived in these churches. The Gospel is easily recognized by churches that preach Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit only -- no gimmicks to "tickle any ears." Phil does another outstanding job with this topic.
Excellent Sermon! Another great presentation regarding the truth of Jesus Christ and the false teachings of the Pharisees. The hatred against Jesus Christ as being the Messiah by the closed mindedness of the Pharisees is nicely done by Brother Phil as usual in his sermons.
Powerful Revealing Sermon! Having heard this sermon a few times, the most recent hearing gave me different insight to its message. While somewhat directed towards people getting older and nearing the end of life, I look back and wish I would have heard and followed this message when I was in my mid-years. Having this teaching would have prevented much heartache and pain over the earlier years. A sinful life causes much pain over the years, and following God's commandments would make life much more peaceful and filling than fighting the pain that comes from living sinful years filled with too much hurt and waste. The earlier one can take in this message the better one's life will be as one ages.
