Many use Lydia as a "right" for women to work outside the home. How do you respond to that?

“ Great Sermon! ”
Pastor Martin, I have listened to this sermon twice already. Your excellent sermon is like a looking glass that helps one see the effects of bitterness. I appreciated how you commented that one may need to revisit the same situation where one holds bitterness over and over but yet as we engage in this struggle through the Lord's help we will have victory. Thank you

What Is Lawful on the Sabbath?

“ Great Sermon! ”
Once the initial development is made, after the first 20 minutes or more, the survey of biblical principles to consider when deciding for your family how to apply the Sabbath requirements is good. One major shortcoming in this sermon is a lack of examination of the phrases in the 4th commandment text and what is meant by servants working and so forth. Whether to do commerce on Sunday is a pressing question among Christians.

“ Doing ordinary deeds extraordinarily! ”
excellent...from the message... "May God cause us to do extraordinary deeds! Might God also enable us to do ordinary deeds extraordinarily! What we need are men and women who will do the common uncommonly...to be father, to be a mother, to be an employee who keeps God's law and brings glory to God and fulfills every moment with a vision of purpose and meaning in serving God. Most of us are going to live, in the eyes of the world, ordinary lives. But we can live extraordinary lives in the ordinary course and day-by-day responsibilities of life. And THAT is what really undergirds history! We are in the stream of history!" Thank you, Mr. Einwechter...

“ Great Sermon! ”
It's a lonely choice to wear a head covering in nearly all the churches I have been to in the last twenty years so this is a wonderful encouragement to follow the Bible's teaching on this subject.Church goers have been hurtful to me in many places regarding my head covering but I wear a head covering for my Lord who died for my liberty from the penalty of my sin.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Superb! I've never heard a clearer or more on-point presentation on the subject of Bible translations than this one. The whole idea of "dynamic equivalence is based on certain philosophical biases which have deep roots in the West, and has little to do with Scripture as divine revelation. These biases undergird a model of how language works which is not true to experience. In short, it is the idea that there exists a fuzzy, numinous realm of "ideas" or "concepts" which exists independent of language. Language is then understood as a "tool" used to "express" these ideas. In truth, there is no such realm of ideas; there are no thoughts without language. Thought IS language. A linguistic utterance "means" just what the words say. Thus, God can only communicate with us in words. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

“ Christian Culture Addressed ”
This so far has been an avoided and "untouchable" subject, because the cloak of "Christian liberty" has been thrown over it. Calvin Klein has thus had more influence on even the most conservative Christian churches than John Calvin or his Calvinistic successors, such as Matthew Henry, Whitefield, or Spurgeon. After the Civil War in America, and the Downgrade days, these things began to change. In R.L. Dabney's "Anti-Biblical Theories of Rights", about the abuse of Gal. 3:28, "there is neither male or female...ye are all one in Christ", writes: "The apostle demonstrates that he never designed the levelling sense to be put upon his words by proceeding after he uttered them to *subject women to an INEQUALITY by imposing upon them ecclesiastical subordination, and *even a different dress* [i.e. head coverings] in the church". An excellent further examination on this important subject can be found here: http://www.covenantofgrace.com/christian_clothing.htm

“ Present Church Culture and Philosophy Challenged ”
While conservative churches claim to reject Feminism and affirm Scriptural authority, this message proves and exposes the anti-Christian, humanistic, and anti-authoritarian social philosophy that has infiltrated Americas churches, primarily beginning in the 20th century. Prior to then it was politically-incorrect for women NOT to wear hats during Christian services. (Presbyterians today in Scotland almost universally still require women wear hats in services). The sermon focuses on that God has a Social Order, since Creation, and a distinctly "Christian Culture" that is divinely ordered for Christian churches to observe. Reference is also made to the distinctions between men and women, and what they wear: "A woman shall not wear what pertaineth to a man, nor a man of a woman" (unisex cross-dressing) is forbidden by the Word of God--but common since the 60s! The error based upon *twisting* the verse that "all are one in Christ" is is shown to be no basis for rejecting this teaching from Paul's doctrine of "headship". Pauls says "If any be contentious, we have no other practice in the churches". Most all are "contentious" today.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Good message series! It's nice to hear a message on Bible Translations which avoids King James Only sensationalism and at the same time provides important instruction on choosing a reliable translation of scripture based on formal equivalency as opposed to dynamic equivalency.

Pastor Einwechter has been a model for me in my understanding the book of Genesis. I'm teaching/ preaching at a Bible study, and was looking for men I can look to from time to time in my understanding of Genesis. Pastor has been a great help for me. I thank the Lord there are Pastors teaching expositorily through the OT in a Christ centered way, not only from a moralistic standpoint. I wholeheartedly encourage all to listen to these sermons on Genesis!
