“ Comprehensive Exposition ” I listened to several sermons on this text and this was the most comprehensive. It is a long text so it's hard to cover it all, but this was may favorite in terms of explaining every verse. If you'd like a full and wide explanation of this parable, this is the sermon for you
“ Great Sermon! ” This message spoke to my heart in reference of the idol in our life, we must let go . I've been dealing with a problem that I am not content with any hair dresser I go to, come home and I re do my hair all over again, the lord had been convicting me about this issue that I must let go of the obsession i have with my hair. Thank you fir this message.
“ Great Sermon! ” Thank you for reminding me that God sets us apart, and that I don't have to do anymore but look to him for that grace of specialness. God is love, and I seek to love like him.
“ Great Sermon! ” God is central in everything. I am included in his concern for his great love for himself. Its not so much about me feeling good because of God's peculiar love for me, but rather God's glory in everything.Tough to explain since our flesh wars against the knowledge of God. Its not about me, I'll leave it at that!
“ Great Sermon! ” Lots of good teaching here. The answer to why is always who-who God is. We tend to reduce him and forget He is absolutely holy. I like the point when we can not understand his ways, we take his promises to us and live on them.
“ Great Sermon! ” Whilst I agree with this very edifying sermon we do need to be careful when we examine culture and fashion. One has to only look at the dress style of the Puritans to understand such manly dress from a previous century might even appear effeminate if worn today-breeches with stockings and ruffled shirts. Powdered wigs. Even the origin of the cravat and neck tie? Can a woman wear a feminine tailored jacket, if so can she also wear feminine tailored pants? If the pants are peculiarly masculine then why not the jacket? The woman’s jacket is tailored that no man would wear it. So what of tailored feminine pants? Observing how lesbians dress-it is always the masculine man’s jacket and man’s jeans, rather than the feminine cuts. The history of bathing and swim wear gives a real sense of the change in the standards of modesty and morality since the Victorian era, so yes we need to be on guard and not followers of fashion. The lady who does wear pants has to wonder why they are no where to be seen pre the 20th century, and why ladies wore dresses to their ankles! The lady seen in public in her immodest swimwear- like a bikini- has to ask the question: Would I answer the door in my underwear! Certain things may become very obvious with self-examination and scripture.
