By My Spirit... Most people will not hear Truth, will not recognize Him as He stands before them, just as Pilate and the rest of the mob who crucified Him, look how the same people who days before praised His coming turned so quickly into the murderous mob! All through scripture we see the same thing, the priests of the OT, most of the Israelites did j by it believe, and the Jews same, most did not see the Truth, and it goes on and on, few will ever hear at all ...
Only God has the power to make the dead hear, and though He lives in us, and we know Him, it was all because He awakened us and delivered us into His Kingdom...
Thank you Brother I am blessed by your teachings, it makes my heart comforted to hear what I believe the Lord has shown me, yet there is not much of these truthful teachings. Praise God and may the Lord bless you David
Brilliant Sermon! You have all you need. Worship is not singing songs and raising hands but a heart bursting in continual loving spiritual conversation with our Father ...not religion
For His Sake remember the cost, seek ye the Kingdom, it is not of this world.
Thank you brother for this excellent reminder, a rebuke needed even more today!
Good Thoughts for those who Would Be Saved! I'm sure blessed by Brother David's observations on Mark 8:34 where, in giving sinners a gospel instruction, Jesus lays down what may be expected of any who trust him for their salvation. It is not that doing these things bring about salvation, but that salvation brings about these things. Christianity is transformational. It does not leave a sinner as he is. The sanctifying influence of the Spirit makes inroads into the flesh, and he will make a man or woman holy, sacrificial, willing to lay down their life for the Saviour. None of these things are natural, but the Christian is no longer a natural man but spiritual. And regeneration is far mightier than ever we think it is. Glory be to God.
Sobering Thought! Another attack of the devil, who hates the cross, the blood, the righteousness of Christ. But this time through someone who will go on to become one of the pillars of the church - Peter. The Lord Jesus Christ rebuked Satan, standing firm in his commitment to his cross-work. Brother David asks churches or individuals of our own state. Do we have in mind the things of God or the things of men?
The Biblical Case Presented! Within this huge chapter are a huge number of biblical arguments for the author's belief. I didn't think I'd manage to listen to it all (it is over three hours long) but by God's grace I heard every word and considered every argument. One particular wrongful use of the law has come about because of an incorrect translation in many Bibles of Galatians 3:24.
For those who love the book of Galatians, and are concerned about law, grace, and the Judaizers, this chapter will give you all you need on the subject.
Peter's Preaching of the King! It is good to look at this apostle, just filled with the Spirit, and see how he preached the gospel. It was by way of exalting the King, the Messiah, and his Kingdom. This point came across to me very strongly. It was an announcement concerning the King, who was crucified by the hearers of the message, but who was now raised from the dead. Amen brother!
Observing truthfully! Jesus of Nazareth taught his disciples many things, including the suffering he was shortly to undergo. Did they understand what he was saying? Not at all. When the events came to pass, did they understand? Not at all. Astonishing.
Great Sermon! "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you..."
Amen. A great and mighty spiritual task requires a great and mighty spiritual enabling. And this enabling is still in force, because the great commission is still in force. Acts 1:8 still shows the driving force behind genuine evangelism.
Wonderful Truths! Christ is risen, amen and amen! I remember what it was like to be unregenerate, and there was no thought in my mind about the raising of Christ from the dead. But when he approached me in 1979, I had no doubt that he was both raised and gloriously exalted, for I caught a sight of his glory and was initially made to fear the Lamb of God (and the coming day of his wrath); but praise God he had come to save not condemn, to justify not find guilty, to pardon my guilt not cast me into hell fire forever.
Right and Wrong! Getting it wrong is relatively easy; getting it right requires the Holy Spirit and the word of God. Before Pentecost even the apostles had a skewed view of why Jesus Christ had come into the world.
Focussed On The Right Thing! Amem, amen, amen. Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, a vast multitude of sinners, by the way of the Cross. Praise God!
Good Chapter! Looking at these things helps give clarity to the subject, and reveals why many have gone astray through enforcing a system on the scriptures, instead of allowing the scriptures to speak. I can see that I may have to do some trimming myself, in order to conform to the word of God on this subject, which thing I am most willing to do, for where is the value in believing something which is untrue?
I can also see the need for much groundwork. It seems to me to be tedious but necessary, as we head towards the big question, "What is the believer's rule of life?" I can picture having some very firm convictions by the end of this series.
