“ Preaching rarely seen in Bible camps ”
When I was in college, I had the privelege of being a Bible camp counselor during the summers. I have heard many people preach at kid's camp. However, most of their preaching was worthless. In this sermon, Brother Paul really sets an example of effective preaching to children. You hear a patient, loving minister who you get the impression takes the faith very seriously in his life. He teaches in a very simple manner that is very thoughtful and instructive. I think that this kind of teaching naturally flows out of a dedicated Christian life. Many of the people I heard did a terrible job of preaching. My pastor says, "what you win them with is what you win them to." Their preaching was fueled by entertainment, an appeal to selfish desires, and use of the wisdom of man. ultimately, most of the speakers won the children to an entertaining, sugar daddy version of God and Jesus--a false Jesus. Mr. Washer used the gospel and the very word of God to win them to to real Jesus Christ. And, not to mention, he was even still a down to earth, humorous man to these children. ("Bye!") Perhaps the most noteworthy thing from this sermon is that Mr. Washer advises these children to read the entire Bible. How often does this happen? Surely it is no unreasonable advice!

“ Great Sermon! ”
Thank GOD for Paul Washer. We need more preachers with enough backbone to preach the truth and contend for the faith.

“ Quoting: ”
"Sunday school. No matter what denomination you are a part of, if you are a part of some denomination that is kind of organized, I can assure you that your denomination spends multi millions of dollars on Sunday school material, multi millions of dollars on conferences, on teaching teachers how to teach Sunday school, on doing everything in the book to promote Sunday school... Let me ask you: How much money does your denomination spend and how many conference and man hours are put in to teach fathers to teach their children? Now I am not saying that children can’t come together in groups and be catechized or be taught or anything, but if that ever even begins to hint to supplant the ministry of the Father in the home, blow it to pieces...Everything for Sunday school, everything for Sunday school. But there is hardly a conference in this entire country to teach men how to teach their children. And most of the time in the Sunday school it is nothing more than entertainment...Let’s look at youth groups... Proverbs 13:20. “He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will suffer harm.” Who ever told you youth ought to be together? Who ever told you that? I’ll tell you who told you that. 1960's psychologists. Generation gap."

How Do You Perceive God?

“ Great Sermon! ”
Rich, rich, profound words on God. My studies on the attributes of God are some of the most invaluable to my life. They leave me with my hand over my mouth. They take my breath away. Thank you for sharing this. When I was eight we lived in a home with a mimosa tree that grew like an umbrella with every branch bowed over touching the ground. Under there was my secret place. The ground was soft from yrs if mulch from the tree. One spot had an indentation that fit my 8 yr old butt perfectly. I would go there and lie looking up at the sky between the mimosa's lacy fonds determined I would not leave until I could understand how God has no beginning. Today as an adult I still cannot perceive that, but I, by His grace, know the God in Christ Who has no beginning.

“ Isaiah 8:19-20, basically ”
Wow! If you played this sermon outside all of the car alarms in the area would go off. This is some serious, passionate preaching. A major subject is that we must go to the Bible for everything, not to the social sciences, the philosophers, or most of the books that fill up Christian bookstores these days. I appreciate this sermon so much. When I was a new Christian I went to a charismatic church where they use the ideas of Psychology to interpret and teach the Bible! And when I questioned this, they said, 'We are a church that moves in the Spirit and we do things that many people are not going to like.' Thank God that people like Paul Washer are warning and preaching against heresies.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Thank you Pastor. You have given a totally new revelation of the process of salavtion which not just repeating a few words but understanding & admitting that we have committed a huge lot of sins and that we have ouselves no power to get out of this mess. We are to be condemed by the Just God to eternal fire. However, through repentance of each of our sins & pouring it out in presence of Jesus Christ & accepting He was crucified for us is necessary. Thank you.

“ Important Missions comments ”
Paul Washer makes some very important comments about missions in the first half. Listen and hear for yourself to see what he says. Also, he says that he was rebuked by a pastor for basically saying people needed to read the Bible more than John Owen. The Bible is inspired. John Owen was a man, and like any man he is questionable. The Bible is not questionable. John Owen is a helpful commentator-teacher, but woe to people who value and esteem men anywhere near how much they value and esteem the Bible. Paul was not wrong to say what he did, and that rebuking pastor should be ashamed. We aren't to make an idolatry out of Christian teachers.

“ Not just for Americans ”
The New Zealand church has the same problems as the church in America. God forgive me for not taking your wrath seriously. I have not proclaimed the gospel clearly and I have been afraid of men rather than God. You are holy and righteous and there is no way we can stand before you without the precious blood of Jesus. John 3v36 "He that believeth in the Son, hath everlasting life, and he that obeyeth not the Son, shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him." Geneva Bible
