Introduction
ABOUT US
Getting To Know Redeemer

"Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:19-20
OUR MISSION
Churches can be about a lot of things. Thankfully, Jesus made it very clear that He wants us to be about: making disciples (followers) of Him. With that in mind, we’ve tried to summarize Matthew 28:19-20 with this short, memorable mission statement:

REDEEMER BIBLE CHURCH EXISTS TO HELP PEOPLE KNOW, LOVE & SERVE JESUS CHRIST

In May of 2015, God started to turn our dying church around with this statement. It helps us make sure that our mission always remains the Great Commission:

Know = “baptizing” Love = “teaching them to observe” Serve = “go”

In everything we do, we want God to use our lives to help people come to know Jesus in salvation (John 17:3; Phil 3:8-9), grow in their love for Him as they follow His teachings (John 14:15, 21, 23) and serve Him as we go and care for the people in our lives and even around the world (Acts 1:8; Rom 12:9-13; 1 Pet 4:10).

This is why Redeemer exists. This is what, by God's grace, we will be all about. If this resonates with you, join us this Sunday at 9am or 10:45am (click here for info).

OUR CORE VALUES
Our hope and constant prayer is that this list of values will shape the people that call Redeemer Bible Church their home.

A HIGH VIEW OF GOD
We make a huge mistake whenever we bring God down to our level and begin to think He is just like us (Num 23:19, Ps 50:21). Instead, we want to make Him look good in all we do (1 Cor 10:31; Eph 3:20-21). We want everyone to see Him for who He truly is (John 17:3), in all His majesty, holiness and greatness, as our Creator, Owner, Standard, Master, Father and King.

THE BIBLE DETERMINES EVERYTHING
The 66 books of the Bible are our highest authority in all matters concerning a person’s salvation and growth thereafter (2 Pet 1:2-4). In other words, we do not look inside ourselves or to other sources outside the Bible for direction from God (2 Pet 1:16-19). This means the Bible alone dictates what we think, do and teach because God is the ultimate source of the Bible (2 Tim 3:16-4:2; 2 Pet 1:20-21).

GOSPEL-CENTRALITY
The good news of Jesus’ perfect life (Heb 4:15, 7:26), substitutionary death (Mark 10:45, 2 Cor 5:21) and victorious resurrection in loving response to our sin is something we should never move beyond, ever (1 Cor 15:3; Phil 1:21). We agree with Tim Keller, who wrote, “The gospel is not the first ‘step’ in a ‘stairway’ of truths, rather, it is more like the ‘hub’ in a ‘wheel’ of truth” (from his article, “The Centrality of the Gospel”) and with John Owen (1616-1683), who wrote, “Holiness is nothing but the implanting, writing and realizing of the Gospel in our souls” (Works 3:370).

DEPENDENCE ON GOD IN PRAYER
We devote ourselves to prayer (Col 4:2) to affirm that God alone makes disciples who know, love and serve Jesus (Matt 28:19-20), and gives us love for our Valley, so that all credit belongs to Him when any of that is accomplished through us.

OTHERS-FOCUSED
To be a Christian is to love (John 13:34-35, Col 3:14). Like Jesus, God has sent each of us (John 17:18, 20:21) to the places where we live, work, study, play and worship to be sacrificial workers for the good of all those we interact with.

COMMITTED CONTRIBUTORS
We always challenge people, unashamedly, to do your part (Eph 4:16) with your time (Heb 10:25), your talents (Rom 12:6, 1 Cor 12:14-26) and your treasure (2 Cor 8:1-9, Gal 6:6), to help others know, love and serve Jesus.

DISCIPLE MAKERS
We want to make healthy followers of Jesus who are growing in our love for God, our family, our work, our church and the lost and are helping others do the same.

INTERCONNECTED
Based on biblical metaphors for the church like a body, a family and a building, there is an expectation that each of us is “doing life” with other Christians, all ages, all races, all socioeconomic backgrounds – everyone knowing and caring for one another (1 Cor 12:25-26; Eph 2:19-22).

SERVANT LEADERS
If Jesus Himself did not come to be served, but to serve so should anyone who aspires to leadership in the Church He started (Mark 10:42-45). Humble, sacrificial, qualified (1 Tim 3:1-13 and Titus 1:5-9), others-focused, disciple-making, contributors are the kinds of people we want leading our church, working on our staff, serving in our ministries and being examples to our kids.
