Jonah 1:4-10 Bible Study_04 Salvation is to all nations without respect of persons. God wasn't just concerned with the Hebrew nations. Even the wicked Assyrians, spiritual descendants of Nimrod, should hear His Word. Our gracious Heavenly Father needs our obedience for the instruction and strengthening of the young men and women, on whose obedience and devotion so much depends for the Church and the world. God is passionate in teaching His followers about His love for the world. God could have just called another prophet, but he did not…Jonah was a great patriot; he loved Israel (America). There is nothing wrong with that, but he also needed to view the world through God's eyes. God has no problem removing you from your comfort zone. You Can't Run Away From God. Disobedience will Create Turmoil in your Life. God never sits idly by as we make wrong decisions. He is a loving Father who cares greatly for us and doesn't want us to get hurt by our sin. The wise person will make a U-turn at the first warning sign He gives. As a believer you need to realize that God loves us even when we make bad choices and will intersect our path in order to correct us. As a believer, you need to respond to God's first correction, lest that chastening become more severe. As a believer, you need to know there is a price paid for every step taken down the wrong path. We may eventually turn around and get right, but at what cost? As a believer, you need to see that in the course of disobedience we do great damage to the testimony of Christ. The world has enough excuses for not trusting in Christ. Let us not let our lives or names be add to their lists!
