In this message, as the pastor desiring to Feed the Flock, where do I start. I start with the first and greatest commandment, to Love the Lord. First, we discuss Agape love. We recognize that love is the foundation of Christianity. We realize love is the source of God's provision of His Son, John 3:16. We also realize God's love is why we love Him, 1st John 4:19. Additionally, we read from Matthew 5:43-46, that love is what separates Christianity from other religions. We also see how love is more important than other things, 1st Corinthians 13:1-3. As we study Agape love, we recognize love is known by the actions it prompts. It is Agape love which enables love to cover a multitude of sins, 1st Peter 4:8. AS we study, we see how important it is to love God. We study the importance of being fed by with a love for God. We ask, "What actions does your love for God prompt in your life? We see that we should love God with every fiber of your being, that your love should be with fervor. We discuss leaving your first love from Revelation 2. Finally, we close with a discussion on love being tested. |
