God Did Not Lie... Friends, God did not lie. He was referring to the evil report of the land, and their own assertion that God could not keep his promise. Moses asked God to pardon for the sake of the His great Name (vs. 15-16). God did pardon, and kept his promise, but those who desired to go back to Egypt reaped what they had sown in unbelief. He gave them what they asked for. By saying, "ye shall know my breach of promise", God was in essence saying, "You think I can't keep my promises by defeating these giants? I'll show you that supposed broken promise by having your children defeat them, while you die in the wilderness." It was confrontation of their unbelief. KJV still stands.

No breach? The KJV is the only version (compared to ESV, ASV, NKJV, NIV) which uses the word breach in Numbers 14:34. However, they all use the word breach in Psalms 106:23 (Moses stood in the breach) which parallels this passage. So why did the other versions drop the breach and not just the word promise? Instead they change it to rejection, alienation, me against you, or displeasure..

Is God a liar and weak? The issue is between the words of this group of people against the word of God. These people accuse God being a liar and a failure in fulfilling his promise in the preservation His word. God’s way is higher than man’s way and whatever means He chose to use in preserving His Word, preserving it well, and His Word is perfectly preserve.
The manuscripts of these fake rebellious bloody Roman Catholic institution demonic inspired modern bible translations, lol, came from these two continuous debating “older” manuscripts – VATICANUS and Codex Sinaiticus. lol. And these two fake manuscripts are not worthy to be witnesses of the accounts of God’s revealed truth because they contradict each other too often too many! Whereas, the manuscripts of the KJV “lives” harmoniously to each other too often too many times!
The only people who are going to have big problem are the people who don’t have the perfect Word of God. They will need very badly the minds of people with PhD in languages to determine which one is the Word of God. Indeed a big, big, problem to poor soldiers with no real sword.
As for the KJV believers, to God be the glory because He not only fulfilled His promise to preserve His Word but also His works of preservation are indeed perfect and pure, the 2 timothy 3:16 ru

God promised to preserve his word To me this verse is referring to the people of Israel in reference to the breach. God told them to go take the land and they chose not to due to a lack of trust or faith. They breached Gods promise because of fear and a lack of faith. I think you are over thinking this verse . Dr Al Lacy said once if God is God he only needs one book . How is it we believe God spoke the world into existence but can't preserve a perfect bible? In all modern translations the contradictions and or omissions are blatantly obvious. I've yet to hear of one in the authorized king James . By the mouth of 2 or 3 witnesses will the word of truth be established. This is confirmed in scripture by Moses, Mathew and Paul if I'm not mistaken. We have at least 5 or 6 witenesses in the old and new testaments combined that say God will preserve his word . Including quotes from Jesus himself.
Modern theologians teach all bibles have error in them therefore we must go to the original Greek and Hebrew. I have a little problem with that. Scripture says may God be true and every man a liar , it also says scripture in of no private interpretation. according to 1 John 2:20,27 we don't need anyone to teach us that the unction of the Holy spirit teaches us all things ( through studying the word of God ) .

Interesting discussion. I think your problem with this verse has nothing to do with the KJV. Almost all of the promises in the Bible are entirely conditional. Eternal Security is of course false doctrine. You can literally open a Bible and find a verse at random to demolish that. E.g Romans 11:21, Matt 25 1-30, John 15 1-6, 1 cor 9:27, 1 Cor 10 1-12,Rev 3:16 etc, etc.
So back up to verse 30.
Doubtless ye shall NOT come into the land, concerning which I SWARE to make you dwell therein . . .
The promise was indeed breached, there is no other possible interpretation. Because the promise was altogether conditional and the Israelites rebelled, as Paul expounds clearly in the book of Hebrews and throughout his letters. Inasmuch as it's a lesson to us: the promises of God require our cooperation in order to be fulfilled.

Thanks Hi Pastors, the title caught my attdntion and I am glad I listened. I use the KJV and will continue to do so. I am grateful for your tome in speaking on the passage in question. It shows me how important it is to study the Word and to see what the original language says. God bless you all

Great Discussion! SermonAudio message ref Num 14:34 KJV wherein the scripture appears to say that God was going to breach a promise. Pastor Sean, Pastor Bill and Joey did a very good job pointing out a very real problem with the translation. God doesn't break his promises.
I have no idea why the KJV authors chose to translate the word "ten'nu'wah'" from Hebrew as "breach of promise" rather than "opposition" or "enmity" or "as an enemy". Fascinating that you recognized the discrepancy as you read from scripture last week - and good on you for so quickly addressing the issue because who knows how many other people saw it also and wondered, however briefly, if it is possible for God to break a promise.
Once again - I am amazed at the wisdom and profound understanding you have of scripture and how easily you share it with others. That is truly a gift you have and thank you for sharing with us to edify and uplift believers.

fantastic discussion Fantastic discussion guys. Thank you for doing your best to remove presuppositions, and search for truth. Too many well meaning people can't see past their denomination or theology in order to discover these types of truths.
