Believers Living in the Light Ephesians 5:1-21When we become born again, Jesus lives in us and the light of God is poured into us. We become vessels of God's light, love, and glory. He uses us to shed His light onto the rest of the world. We must be light bearers, shining for others to see, even in the darkest of places and on the darkest of hearts. Because you are now in Christ, you are to walk differently.Christianity calls for an exact reversal of lifestyle. The one who once stole is to become a hard worker so that he can taken a portion of his earnings and give to others who are in need. His relationship with Christ has turned him from a taker into a giver. 1. The Believer is to Walk Following God, Ephesians 5:1-7 2. The Believer is to Walk as a Child of Light, Ephesians 5:8-14 3. The Believer is to Walk Carefully and Strictly, Ephesians 5:15-21Paul mentions several things that we should not do: be sexually immoral, greedy, foolish, talk obscenely or foolishly, tell naughty jokes, join with those who use empty words, or get drunk. If you are doing any of these things, take time to repent and ask for God's forgiveness. Are you speaking words of encouragement, thanksgiving, and praise instead of using cuss words, being pessimistic and critical, gossiping, and telling coarse jokes?Ask God to use you as a light to the world to reach people for Him and see lives changed. |
