Having looked last week at the calling of the apostle Paul and the identity of the believers in this church described as saints we now come to the second part of verse two. Paul here pronounces a blessing upon the people at the very beginning of his letter. This is both a statement of what they had received from God along with a desire that they would receive more. The whole goal of his ministry to the church was that the believers would go deeper in the grace of God and know more and more of the peace of God.
