...do not fear, My servant Jacob...nor be be dismayed, O Israel; Behold, I will save you from afar, and your seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return...in rest...and no one shall make him afraid...though I make a full end of ALL NATIONS where I have scattered you, yet I will not make a full end of you. I will correct you...and will not let you go altogether unpunished. Jer. 30:10-11
The God of Amos' prophesy wouldn't fit in the theology or preaching of most American churches, especially the severity of judgment spoken of in Amos 7, 8 and 9. It's obvious that God is not one we can manipulate and carry around like a "get me out of trouble card." He's the same yesterday, today and forever... and the same God who judged Israel and dispersed their kingdom is the same God who rules and reigns today. They did the unthinkable... when they turned His justice into bitterness and His righteousness into poison. And what He did then... He'll do in the future to America, and all other nations, as Jeremiah said in Jeremiah 46:28. He's going to make a full end of all the nations...
Give Jesus everything you are, before everything you are eternally binds you in everything He's not.
