The Pharisees are kind of taunting Jesus by asking when the Kingdom of God would come. After all, they believed in a coming conquering king, and Jesus just didn't seem to be the kind of guy that would be capable of that.
As we move into this passage, I want to remind us of a handful of truths and misperceptions: truths from God's word concerning His yet to be fulfilled return; and misperceptions and misunderstandings of the Pharisees concerning the Messiah's two appearances.
Today, we will begin looking at seven reasons why Jesus must return in glory by looking at reasons 1-4. 1) God's Promises, 2) Jesus' teachings, 3) the Holy Spirit's declarations, 4) the Hope to which the church has been called.
Next week, we will look at 5) God's promises concerning Israel's yet to be fulfilled future destiny, 6) the Corruption of the world, and 7) the Future exaltation of Christ
