YOU NEVER MISS THE WATER TILL THE WELL RUNS DRY. Judges 16:20-22 If there is anything that essential for a strong and successful Christian life, it is having God's power upon us. Failure is one of the realities of life, especially in the Christian life. Every Christian at one time or another has failed in his Christian walk. Christians fail sometimes. They mess UP, FALL, cave IN, wash OUT. There are times when our GIVING goes on the blink. We GIVE IN (compromise), GIVE OUT (tired), GIVE UP (quit). We fail.so what happens when we do? Does God stick us on a shelf or bench us from His team for the rest of our lives while we watch others do what we can no longer do? Samson's life is a tragic picture of a man of God fully equipped to serve God, but whose service is rendered ineffective by passion and lust. His life is a stern warning to others who are prone to follow the path of sensuality. Samson failed, but by God's grace, when failure is properly dealt with it can be a giant step forward in Christian growth. We have a Lord who restores failures! Are you faltering and failing? Have you learned to deal with failure? Admit it, accept God's forgiveness, be patient because restoration takes time, and trust God to use you. Be available to him. Every person has a blemish, mistake, or failure in their life which could have put them on the bench spiritually speaking. Praise God, however, the Lord is in the business of restoring failures, delivering the defeated, and boosting the beaten! Samson will always be remembered as the "weak strong man". He was strong in his muscles, but weak in his morals and it cost him plenty. Do you need to come home? |
