Theme: It takes everyone to be on mission for Christ and His Kingdom. In v. 1, we see the strategy of Jesus. He sends out disciples in groups of two to preach the good news of the Kingdom. Personally and corporately, we have a mission to reach out to others with the good news. In v. 2, we see the reality. The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. We need to realize the urgency of sharing the gospel. In v. 2b, Jesus gives instruction to pray earnestly that the Lord of the harvest will send forth laborers into His harvest. We need to depend on God through prayer. God has called us to mission. We are to reach people for His kingdom. Christ has asked us to pray. Will you pray that God would send laborers, and then ask the Lord if you are the one who should go.
