When we are saved we are given the Holy Spirit and by Him we know His voice. But how familiar are we with His voice? When we get out of touch, not talk as often as we need to, we have trouble discerning who is talking to us. The more familiar we are with His word the easier time we have listening. His word can help us avoid a lot of grief, if we hear and listen to Him. Sometimes the grief still comes, that is when we need to have a little talk with Jesus. He may be using this to help us hear His voice even more clearly. But if we are hard of hearing because we are not in His word grief may be leading full steam in our direction. The Bible says ‘he that hath ears to hear let him hear' If you can't hear, those ears need to be cleaned out with the word of God so that you can hear His voice and know His voice.
