In chapter 39 of Genesis, we saw how the Lord was with Joseph and gave him success in all he did. But then, things got worse in the second half of the chapter and he was falsely accused and imprisoned.
Chapter 40 reminds us that God was still with Joseph, even in prison. And, as we will see in chapter 41, God was putting Joseph into the place where he would need to be for God's deliverance to be accomplished.
God is working His plan. He provides for His people, though his people often become impatient because we can't see how this current affliction can be used for a far greater purpose and glory.
Be patient. Learn obedience through the things you suffer. Be still. Keep fulfilling your responsibilities. Watch for the Lord to reveal Himself through the timing and work which will bring glory to Him and wonder to us.
