very encouraging! A very challenging encouragement to continue to press on in personal evangelism at a time when it seems it is very out of favor in evangelicaldom. I have heard evangelism actually ridiculed and made fun of in church, and told to just "bring them in" (the lost, into the church building). This sermon teaches the biblical truth about evangelism.
Clearly explains how and why it is true that the practice of personal evangelism is entirely consistent with the belief in the sovereignty of God in salvation.
This sermon also admonishes us to continue to be faithful in using "words" and "preaching" in evangelism, in this time of postmodern ideas of "incarnational" witnessing, that is, to just "be" the gospel, or to be "Christ with flesh on", without the use words, preaching, proclaiming, telling, and declaring God's Word to the lost. |
