Great Sermon! God demands Impartiality! A very unofficial summary! Para. James was the half-brother of Christ. He became a believer after Christ's death, and was a major leader in the Jerusalem church. James was worried that his fellow Jewish Christians whose behavior wasn't consistent with their beliefs. He wanted them to be doers of the Word and not just hearers of Word. Para. James didn't want Christians to copy the world's respect for the wealthy because they are wealthy and to be carried into the Church. The poor have been blessed with spirit of Christ, For the rich, it's not the material things you have in this world that is of real importance. Para.

1 My brothers, don’t hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ of glory with partiality
5 Listen, my beloved brothers. Didn’t God choose those who are poor in this world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the Kingdom which he promised to those who love him?

People's views on people get skewed when they start looking at a person's wealth, which the church growth movement does. God does much of his work through the "nobodies" of the world. The wealthiest and poorest are both saved exactly the same way--through the grace of God.

Great Sermon! (on James 2:1... It seems to be the proper sermon. Five minutes into the sermon you see that Gil does begin James chapter 2, and I assume (Hey! I don't have a perfect memory, and didn't listen to the rest of it.), but covered the verses mentioned.
