There is a hidden lesson nestled among these verses. Samuel was the desire of Hannah's heart. She brings him to Shiloh and leaves him there. She could have brought him each year and allowed him to return home for a time. Instead, on her first visit she brings him and leaves him there. Hannah has brought her burdens and blessings to the Lord and left them there. This truth is seen in the name... Shiloh. The name Shiloh is a name for Jesus Christ (Genesis 49:10). This name means "tranquility, rest, peace." Hannah came to the place of rest and peace and found her rest and peace in the Lord... the Prince of Peace. That is where we will find peace too.
I ask you mothers listening to me at this very moment, have you put a robe of prayer around your children? Have you clothed them in the garment of prayer and praise? I say to you, that is your mission as a mother. That is your privilege as a parent. If you did that, what a strike you would make against the forces of evil
