This sermon explores some of the essential aspects of Jesus as our great High Priest. He had to be fully human to be united to humanity yet also fully divine in order to connect his people to God. Unlike the Levitical priests, he was the sinless, resurrected Son of God who died "once-for-all" to redeem his people unto God. He ascended in his glorified flesh not into an earthly tabernacle but into heaven itself where he presented his own blood as the atonement for our sins. No other sacrifice for sin is needed or even now possible because of the sufficiency of Christ's perfect sacrifice. He is alive and interceding for us to strengthen us in temptation. We should hold firmly to the faith we possess and have no hesitancy to boldly approach his throne of grace in times of need. Satan's accusations against us must evaporate before his perfect redemptive work in our behalf. We live by faith in the Son of God who died for us and then rose for us. Now it is his glory that we live for.
