Today’s message is taken from John 21:18-23 and is titled “Jesus Recommissions His Disciples –.Follow Me”
We have seen in previous messages that John 21 is a fitting epilogue where we are given a parallel to the Great Commission passages in the other gospels. We have seen that Jesus demonstrates to his disciples that they are to fish for men and feed His sheep. We now come to the third section of the chapter where Jesus commands “follow me.”
“Follow me” is the command to disciples of Jesus. In this message, we’ll consider three questions: Why follow Jesus, How do you follow Jesus, and Where do you follow Jesus. We will learn from Jesus’ dialogue with Peter about his future life, as compared to that of John, that we aren’t to compare ourselves with others, but follow Jesus on terms He determines.
