At its heart Christianity is a restored relationship to God which has been accomplished by the life and death of Jesus Christ. Two parties that were formally at enmity with one another, Holy God and sinful man, have now been reconciled. "This is eternal life" says Jesus, "that they may know You, the one true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent" (John 17:3). Under the Old Covenant not everyone knew the Lord, in fact most did not. But the New Covenant is built upon far great promises, one being that EVERY heir of the New Covenant knows the Lord. And once we have come to know the Lord, He has promised that when we draw near to Him He will draw near to us. Knowing Him, we can know Him more! In this sermon we explore this glorious blessing of knowing the Lord which has been secured for all of God's elect by the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ!
