Theme: Followers of Christ can have continual peace knowing God is sovereign over all things to display His own glory!
Evil and good exist. God is the standard of what good is, and He is the standard by which we determine what is evil. God is not the author of sin or evil. In answer to the question, "Why does God permit evil?" we can know that God permits evil for a greater good in His decrees. Two examples of this are Joseph and Job. Sometimes we will know why God allows circumstances as Joseph did, but sometimes like Job, we will not. A second question that needs to be answered is, "How should we think about evil?". We need to know that God is sovereign in all things, and He is good. We also need to know that God's glory is the highest good. In conclusion, while God permits evil, it is being worked for His glory and our good. Ultimate evil will never prevail. We yearn and look forward to the day when all things will be made right.
