“ Excellent Sermon! ”
Awesome, excellent sermon! Dear Lord, increase our love for You, our knowledge of You, our faith, our zeal and the fruit of Your Holy Spirit,in us, as we submit our hearts, minds, and our lives to You each and every new day. Psalm 139:23 " Search me,O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting." Amen!

“ About William Ames ”
Response to Don: Dr. Beeke is a very busy man so I don't think he would mind me weighing in on your question about William Ames. Dr.Beeke is about to release a new book that is a compendium of Puritan works gathered together as a systematic theology. The book link is here. http://www.heritagebooks.org/a -puritan-theology-doctrine-for- life-pre-order/ William Ames is not well known for one reason, a lot of what he wrote was still in Latin. But my understanding is that one of his Latin works was translated and quoted from in this new work when dealing with the subject of the Puritan and that which precedes conversion. I have yet to see this new book, but have perused the table of contents and amazed Dr. Beeke finds the time to write so prolifically, head a seminary, and preach from place to place. On the subject of mortification, I hope to narrate as many unique Puritans on this subject as I can find. So far I have done John Flavel, John Owen, Thomas Manton, Stephen Charnock and I can't remember if there were others T M S www.puritanaudiobooks.com

“ Good sermon - plus a question. ”
I’m a layperson living in Burlington, Ontario – 45 minutes west of Toronto. I’ve been a Christian since 1976, but it’s only in the last 4 years that I’ve read extensively about Calvinism. Five years ago I began listening to S. Lewis Johnson's sermons stored at the Believer’s Chapel (Dallas) website. In two of his last messages he discussed how helpful William Ames’ Marrow of Theology had been to his understanding of the Atonement. Consequently I purchased The Marrow and A Sketch of the Christian’s Catechism. I have been deeply blessed by both books. My question is: Why isn’t Ames discussed or mentioned all that much these days; he seems to have very influential in his day - The Canons of Dort, J. Edwards and Milton. I’m reading Ames and Warfield these days. I confess that it takes all my brainpower to understand either of them. Both have led me to study God’s Word with great vigor. And I enjoyed your message "Killing Remaining Sin" Regards, Don Smith

“ Great Sermon! ”
May the Lord bless you Mr Beeke. This sermon was what I needed as I have struggled with the presence of sin in my life for along time. You have encouraged me to persevere and not expect to sit bsck and relax from the war we are in. Indeed relaxing from fighting sin is sin!

I wanted to send this sermon to all the members of my church. I will continue to listen to Dr. Joel Beeke and pray my Christian brothers and sisters take on board the whole Truth.

“ Motivational Sermon! ”
An enheartening reminder to never lay down arms or give sin a moment's rest, or to be satisfied with anything short of perfection! Our salvation is already accomplished, but the warfare is still of vital importance. It's also encouraging to remember, when the monsters of sin look so daunting, that perseverant soldiers, who keep their eyes fixed upon Jesus, WILL be conquerors, and that the battle is one that even the most experienced saints face until death. Unbelievers follow their own pleasures, but our constant struggle brings "pleasure forevermore at the right hand of God".

“ Great Sermon! ”
This sermon should be heard by every born-again Christian. I was a Pentecostal-Charismatic for 14 years. The Lord opened my eyes to the doctrines of grace in Dec 1989, and led me to the Puritans. I did not know of mortification and vivification until then, and am still learning daily to walk in newness of life. Dr Beeke's article on Meditation is such a gem to my soul. Please make it available to the wider Christian world. Thank you for ministering to us so faithfully.

“ A Much Needed Exhortation. ”
This is the kind of message that would have been heard more readily hundreds of years ago. But today, we live in times of apostasy which Paul spoke about in 2 Timothy 3:3-4. The subject of sin is okay these days as long as no one tells us what sin is. Tell us we're sinners, that's fine, but don't tell us that God requires us to forsake certain things. Jesus extended many faithful warnings concerning our sinful patterns and tells of the eternal consequences of our continued rebellion against God. This sermon is a must hear for all genuine and sincere believers!

“ You must listen to this sermon! ”
Dr Joel Beeke preaches with power and authoritative biblical knowledge, on a subject that clearly sets Reformed theology, coming out of Geneva, apart from Lutheran and other views of sanctification.
