We live in a Statist hell. America – and all the West – are statist societies. What I mean by statist or statism is that people think the state is the one to correct every wrong and cure every ill in society. The State is the be all and end all.
Western Civilization – resulting from the good of Christianity – produces something far different. Something of which vestiges remain in our current statist society. The West produced federalism. Federalism does NOT see the State as the be all and end all. Federalism recognizes that all three of the great governments established by God are of importance – namely, civil government, church government, and family government. All three produce within the individual self-government. Each has it own jurisdiction and function in society – in other words – NO – the State is not the be all and end all.
