Only Kings David and Solomon have more written about them in the Old Testament than Good King Hezekiah. He was considered a righteous man compared to his father, King Ahaz. He had a father that was wicked to the core but had one witness, his mother Abi, who had a vehement heart for the Lord. She became the fatherly influence in place of Ahaz. In doing what was right in the sight of God, Hezekiah went against the culture of the day. He knew that God was not pleased with the rule of Ahaz and reversed what his father had done. Hezekiah led the nation back to worshiping God and not idols. In the next ten installments of this series we will see how Hezekiah spearheaded this transformation. Alas, it did not last much past Hezekiah's reign.
