“ Good on Election and the false 'Lordship salvation ”
I did enjoy this sermon. He often teaches doctrinal truths. This sermon refutes Popish Romanism and "Lordship salvation" as so often taught these days by those claiming to be Baptists or others. My salvation was free and clear to me. I offered nothing in return. I did not merit it. I did not trade servanthood to God for my salvation, otherwise it would be wages. I gave God NOTHING at salvation. He gave me ALL FOR FREE. With spiritual growth, I wanted God's will for my life, but only after salvation. I am very uncomfortable with terms like, "gave my life to God," or, "accepted Christ as Lord." Sure, these may not mean doctrinal error, but sometimes they do. Where will you find the Bible teaching that we give God anything at salvation, or that we accept Christ as Lord, at Salvation? We just trust Him as Saviour. All the rest comes post-salvation. Brother Spurgeon was incorrect on perseverance, though. A person can be saved, yet turn from God, in sin. Example: Solomon. He turned to demons/false gods, yet we know he was saved. Jonah rebelled very much against God, yet we know he was saved.

“ Great Sermon! ”
"I love da Spurgeon!" This is a wonderful sermon, and narrated by a very good narrator.

“ Great Sermon! ”
It is an awful thing for people to reject Christ as the Savior for in doing so, they have put upon themselves their future condemnation. They are like vessels of pleasures and vessels of pride prepared for the wrath of God's coming judgment. It will be a dreadful and terrible thing indeed for God to overflow His anger upon such people. May the Lord re-fashion us to be vessels of mercy fit for the Master's use and for His glory. Listen now to this great preaching and as you do, pray that the Lord will bring you closer to the kingdom of God and under His divine sovereignty.

“ Exellent Sermon! ”
I have listened to this sermon about 10 times and each time it has impacted me. "Vessels of Mercy" is on the top ten list of my favorite Spurgeon sermons along with "A Home Question", and "Indwelling Sin". All christian need to listen to these sermons at least five times.

“ Switch to Romans 5:5 ”
Carol, I've downloaded many of Spurgeon's sermons and have compared some with the text - it's all there. However, perhaps some have been "shortened" to fit MP3 downloads although I don't know this for a fact. My experience is not in any way a coplete coverage survey. There are around sermons 3,500 in print [or electronic format]. Try http://www.biblebb.com/spurgeo n.htm and see if there is something there which "does not disappoint."

“ Great Sermon! ”
I have listened to several of the sermons of C.H. Spurgeon and am quite disappointed that they are only partial sermons. Is there no way you can have the full sermon available for listening? Thank you so much. Sincerely, Carol Hargrove

  C. H. Spurgeon
Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-92) was England's best-known preacher for most of the second half of the nineteenth century. In 1854, just four years after his conversion, Spurgeon, then only 20, became pastor of London's famed New Park Street Church (formerly pastored by the...
