This message adds reality to what we know and strengthens faith. There is an old saying that "Seeing is believing". Although when Jesus stood before Pilate, Pilate asked "what is truth". While he was looking at the personification of truth, (see John 14:6). If he had recognized who Jesus was he would not have crucified the Lord of glory, (see 1 Cor. 2:8). People make many mistakes because they don't recognize the value of truth. Time after time Jesus chosen disciples had the wrong responses because the reality of who Jesus was escaped them. A classic example was that after Jesus calmed the sea they became more fearful than before instead of gaining a sense of relief. They knew some of the truth or they would not have approached Him with "carest thou not that we perish". They had failed to apply their previous experiences of Jesus' compassion and miraculous events and became so fearful they began to panic. Like the disciples, when we as believers are overwhelmed with worry, stress or fear we lose our faith because we forget that God knows what we need before we ask and that He has our very hairs numbered, (see Mat. 10:30-31).
