I am not here to bash anybody or hurt anyone's feelings but our country is in crisis. Nation wide church attendance is down. According to a recent article 80% of Protestant churches are either stagnant or declining in membership, with around 3,500 people dropping out of church everyday, and nearly 4,000 churches closes their doors each year. That does not paint a rosy picture. I would tell this to churches with 5 members as well as to churches with 50,000 members. Our country is in full blown moral decay because we as a nation have gotten away from the Bible. We have taken God out of the schools, proper punishment away from parents, and are more concerned with hurting someone's feelings than warning them about the coming judgment. Americas time is coming and it is coming fast. We saw in verse17 that everyone was slain in the house of their sanctuary, that word means asylum, it is a place of security and comfort, the place where they were supposed to be getting help. Instead they became fish in a barrel. We can't change the fact that our nation has arrived at this same point in time, what we can change is ourselves. By doing so we can help rescue as many as possible. We see in verse 20 not everyone died, they lost everything, we may loose everything but all the stuff in this life is of this world and we aren't taking it to heaven with us but we can the people. It may seem hopeless, that they won't listen but if God can reach the heart of a heathen king such as Cyrus than he can reach this mess of a nation through us.
