The doctrine of God's plan of redemption is twofold in its objective. These objectives are intent upon God restoring two things that were lost to humanity through the deception of Eve and the corruption of Adam's nature through willful sin and disobedience to God's will. The first creation was cursed of God because Adam rebelled against God's command to not eat the fruit of "the tree of knowledge of good and evil" (Genesis 2:9) in the Garden of Eden. We do not know what the fruit of that tree was, nor is it important that we know. What is important was that Adam was given dominion over everything in the creation that God gave him, but that one tree. The fruit of that tree was forbidden to humanity. Due to Adam's sin, humanity was cursed to eternal separation from God (spiritual death) and the first creation was cursed to future destruction by God. God's plan of redemption involved the redemption of lost souls offered to sinners as a gift of His grace received through a decision of faith alone in the promised Redeemer born through the seed of a woman (Genesis 3:15). Second, God would redeem the dominion given to humanity but lost to Satan through Adam's sin by becoming a sinless human being and substitutionally dying for the sins of all humanity (II John 2:2). The time of completing of this twofold plan of redemption is the substance of Revelation 11:13-19.
