After the Lord God had finished creating the heavens, the earth, the seas, and all that they contain in the space of six days He rested from His work on the seventh day. But the irony is that, by His very work of cessation, God created one more thing on the seventh day: He created the Sabbath. The implications of this truth are huge for you and I. Throughout history and even to the present day there have been many who have claimed that the Sabbath was instituted at Mount Sanai and was for the Jews only. But if it can be shown that God established the Sabbath in Eden many centuries prior to Sanai then it is a creation ordinance that is morally binding upon all peoples of all places of all times. As we learn in this message, Jesus has taught us that the Sabbath was made for THE man, Adam, and therefore is binding upon all of Adam's posterity.
